    Popping noise in protools.

Yes. Pull the buffer size down as low as you can until PT starts telling you to put it up, and unclick that "ignore errors" check box. What the checkbox says is it tells PT to ignore any errors that may cause pops and clicks - so instead of stopping playback and telling you what the problem...

Condenser mic distance on guitar cab

Whilst I have no experience with this particular condenser, you should be able to put it right up by the grill with little problem. As suggested, use a pad switch either on your pre or on the mic itself; you can also buy separate in-line attenuators which would go between the mic and the preamp.

    auto-track expansion mode

got a bit stuck on something here: was tracking today at a local studio when i must've lent on the keyboard or something and turned on this function I've never even heard about. Every time I inserted the edit cursor on a particular track, it would change the vertical size of that track and...

How do I send echo to only a small part of my vocals?

you could put THC on an aux track, and automate an aux send to it. Remember - the Massey plugs won't recall your settings each time you open the session!

How do I send echo to only a small part of my vocals?

What effect us it? As you pointed out, Massey demo's have no bypass function so if you're inserting say a compressor on a vocal track, there is no possible work around without really changing things..

How do I send echo to only a small part of my vocals?

No. Here's how i would do it: Create an aux track, insert the delay plugin of choice, select the input to be an aux of your choice, for ex. aux 1-2. On your vocal track, create a send to aux 1-2. The change the automation view to aux-1-2 volume, and only automate it up when you want the...
