Bit of a pickle regarding my Download

Hi. On my bands website We have downloads which are fantastically slow (see here) I'll start by telling you what I did from scratch and then maybe someone could tell me what to do differently. 1.Using Audacity recording as "what you here" I played the WAV file on media player. 2)Once recorded...

    Tell me what you think

Thanks. I agree about the vocals during the chorus. The producer just slapped on a load of distortion but didn't bring the volume down so it sounds far too loud and well.... crap. Plus we ran out of money before we could work on the drums but one day...... ;) What do you reckon would be the...

You'll have to download the tunes. They're at http://www.freewebs.com/bawbag/demo.html. Also what do you think of the website? It's the first time I've ever made a website.

I didn't know where to post this(maybe someone could tell me and I'll post it there too.) It's not really about recording but My bands website is on freewebs and I'm sure many of you will be familliar with the crappy unoriginal layouts you get with them. So I tried my hand with HTML and came up...

This is my plan for recording my band

Using reason I have sorted the drums for the song. I am playing each drum seperately into seperate tracks. What I want to know is what would the best way to sync them up be? Is it just a case of trial and error?

Best way to do Rock drums electonically

what I do is use reason but record each drum onto a seperate track then eq them all. I get a not bad sound out of them. If you make sure that you don't have note quantising on then you can move some random beats slightly to one side or the other to give it more of a human feel. Changing the...

    how to copyright instrumentals

A cheap way to do it is by sending the cd to yourself by registered post. Once you get this and it'll have been postmarked with the date just keep it (Don't open it) and this is proof that ,if you ever need to prove, the music is your's.

How to fade out with reason 2.5

Right click on the fader and select automate function. as long as on the bottom bit you've clicked on the mixer and it has the wee round bit next to the picture on the left you should be cool. Then you record and at the bit you want to fade out just do it manually. This should be recorded...

    Di box necessary?

What do you mean by what am I recording? If you mean instrument wise then it's 2 guitars bass, drums and vox. Thanks for telling me that though because I would have used taken the line out from the bass drum and stuck it DI. You saved me a pretty penny there.

Can you use any mics to mic up a kit?

I have 3 regular vox mics and although I know it won't produce studio quality I was wondering if anyone could give any tips on how to get a half decent sound with these. I have a drum machine so could maybe do some of the drums with this. Any help would be appreciated.

I hear poeple talking about this here and wonder If I would need one for a VF80. I have been able to record without one but am I damaging my machine doing this?

What is everyones prefered method of recording?

I only ask as I would like to get ideas. I'm a novice and rigth now I lay down the drums using reason's drum machine, then put guitars down the have the drummer play over what's there and then have vocals last. All guitars are DI into my VF80. I know this is a pretty basic way of doing things...
