Ok. I do want to do strings but drums are more pressing.
I have a computer.
I'm interested in a software solution.
My main concern is a program to create the drum tracks and I'll record them with something else.
Interesting
Well there has been a lot of information given and I'm thankful to all. But me more specifically explain my problem.
What I want to do is really record drums but I do9n't have so I was looking into MIDI to create the drum tracks.
I was using Fruity Loops but I don't know how to get...
I know nothing about MIDI.
From what I do know it seems I can use it create music from many different instuments.
How can I do this and how do I do it with the instruments sounding real as possible?
Ok. I know I gotta be annoying now but I've been to the site and looked at the pics and still don't see how you can take six outputs from the mixers. Please explain as if talking to the person an idiot calls an idiot.
Indeed!
I guess I should try to work with what I got without spending but perhaps I should explain my difficulty. I don't know how to get specific timings in Fruity Loops. It seems to be strictly 4 beats in a bar which are dived to get 8. How could I get more precision than that? For example...
If I have no drums but I wanna record drums on my PC, how can I?
I suppose some kinda looping app but I've tried Fruity Loops and find it difficult.
Is there something better and easier or is there a better method to do drums?
New idea!
Is it possible to have a mixer with a s/pdif out and then input that to the sound card but with the program recognising the separate channels?
Umm.....?
To be honest I don't know what all those terms mean but are you sure that I can get 6 separate preamped outs from the mixer?
Also what exactly are busses. Especially when sound cards talking about having more channels by bussing.
I've been looking on the website and the don't talk about this. Can you explain? And is this sort of this also possible between one 1010LT and one OMNI studio?
I don't know it this sounds stupid.
I see the 1010LT has two inputs I could use with the mics bu the others would need a mixer like you said. Now how do I use a mixer to get mics into the 1010LT? I mean as six sperate mic channels?
I'm a newbie so amybe I don't know of what I'm speakingf but as I understand when I use my XLR mic with my PC mic input I lose signal because I'm using it in the mini phone jack.
Is this true and if so what can I do? Would a directbox help?
Also what is phantom power?
