Question About What I Should Buy Next.

The card helps your computer out with the processing needed to run a bunch on plugs in reaper (or cubase or whatever). It's very easy to install; if you don;t feel comfortable doing it, it will take your average computer geek about 30 seconds. Which one? Well, how much do you want to spend...

Question About What I Should Buy Next.

I realize it's not a priority right now, but when you're ready for some plugs, gotta love the uad-1

Question About What I Should Buy Next.

I strongly recommend NOT buying anything that you don't know what it is or what it's supposed to do. Nothing to be embarrassed about, just learn before you waste money. If you need compression, There are better ones than the 266 (IMHO) for less, especially if you go on ebay. There are lots...

    Fulltone OCD Overdrive Pedal

I own one, and I'm a big fan. My favorite thing is, it's so sensitive to what I do with my pick hand. I can control the amount of breakup just by how I play, I love that. It's got a zillion tones, all of them fantastic. I agree with the other guy though, the "hp" switch could be beefier...

What Are The Best Guitar Forums?

Personally, I've learned a lot here. I think if you're going to be a real stickler for all of those virtues, you may need to go someplace besides the internet. There are very smart people right here, very helpful, and the assholes, well, you can just add them to your ignore list and carry on.

    the rack itself

rails I bought some of these and made it happen with some scrap 1x4. Thjat's probably about as cheap as you're going to get.

    does such a pedal exist?

I love my Fulltone OCD for this very reason, and I second buying a tube amp, even a cheapie like my blackheart. I like to be able to control the gain with nothing more than my two hands (and maybe a pick).

    Bass amp simulator question

I LOVE my sansamp RBI. I prefer a cab, but in my opinion no amp going for less than about $650 sounds as nice as my RBI, and I'm a cheap bastard, got my rbi for 230 or so off ebay. Yes you can beef up your mids, it's beefy as hell however you need it to be. I never have to fix up my bass...

Record all my tracks with the same mic?

For or against recording everything with a 57. Like, Is "Hall and Oates did it" a reason to DO that thing, or a reason to AVOID doing it? It's a joke.

Record all my tracks with the same mic?

I'm confused... is this an argument for or against?

Record all my tracks with the same mic?

The problem I would anticipate is if that mic has a frequency bump anywhere, that freq is going to be muddy as shit in the final mix, and eqing it out may not help. If you're going to do this, you might need to eq on the way into the box or really experiment with placement. Or, only record...

Who Is Better Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page

No, it's a recording forum. Says so right at the top there. Specifically, this is the guitar/bass section. No mention of music. So, people are as welcome to discuss Hendrix and Page as they are Gavin Rossdale.

    micing aerobics

I know, but I usually use different mics in the studio and on stage, just wondered about that. Anyhow, instead of buying an expensive toy and inviting her back for more recording, I worked it more or less like this: - plugin compressor quite a bit more aggresive than I would normally use...

    micing aerobics

I'm recording this lady doing exercise routines, and she can't maintain any consistent distance to the mic or maintain a constant volume level too much either. I'm using compression, eq, and riding the volume slider like a rodeo cowboy... I'm just wondering if there's a mic that might help me...
