    Post production of classical vocal

Hey, everyone! Hope you are all well :) Back in 2015 I recorded my friend's singing a classical piece from Verdi: the instrumental was provided and we recorded the voice. Them, I mixed it. I do not know if I did a good job or not. A few days ago, I revisited this recording and made some...

    Interface for DAW

Hello everyone! I know that there are various control surfaces out there for different budget. I do not create music and for all these midi, drums buttons etc. I have no use. I need something similar with buttons (see the pic), but I would store in those buttons various DAW commands...

Thanks, very much :). That is why I am asking ... I am experimenting :) with this h-Reverb by waves. Say if you look at this performance she has reverb that is a bit different texture wise, but it is pretty lush too :) I will play more with it.

Hey, guys~ Since I started it here, I will continue... I would like you to hear another song that my friend recorded at my place. Again, it is an instrumental + voice. What do you you think? Music vs voice balance, FX whatever it may be, I would like to hear it so I can better at it :)...

    AT-5040 Mic

Thanks! Sometimes I record vocals :) I am very happy with this mic. I like that proximity effect is sort of blended nicely and as prominent compared to my previous mic rode nt2000 Another mic that I like for some projects is Sennheiser MD 441 - it is such a joy to even hold that mic :)

    AT-5040 Mic

I have this mic... it was suggested by a fiend, so I got it! So far, I like it a lot. It does not color sound at all and does not have dramatic proximity effect... What is your experience with this mic if any? oh, I am a voice over guy, just in case. :)

Thank you, TalismanRich! I am glad I was able to address your initial remarks :) I tried to smooth out her super low notes and high's that fell out in the first version with multiband dynamic EQ - it helped a lot. Perhaps you are right, she does have an accent - she is a Russian speaking...

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I do have R-Deesser on her voice, evidently, it is not enough... I will try to pgive it a punch some more. And as far as automation, I usually use it for SENDS... the principal is clear, never used it on voice though :)

Hello people :) Listen, I have a question: Let's say the music during its course changes volume and intensity, but the volume of a singer stays the same, and in the quieter parts it kind of rolls out... What is the best way to deal with it in such cases? I am attaching a file. If you would...

    Podcast (Music similar volume/rms)

I did find out the RMS :) if RMS is lower -15, the software starts to do weird things with the sound... suddenly lows diminish, and trebles come out.... volume is sort of unstable... I tested that file, it is working fine I tried to keep RMS between -15 and -20 PS I would've written...

    Podcast (Music similar volume/rms)

I never said anywhere that I want to squash it and make it LOUD. I said I want all tracks to have more or less same volume, so when I look at its graphical representation, I do not see extremely uneven picture. I attached a file. Take a look. This is what I wanted, but I hoped I could get even...

    Podcast (Music similar volume/rms)

I know how to achieve it so that all songs for CD for example sound similar - it could be easily done in Adobe Audition. If I put a limiter on the track where all songs are, then it will limit the loud ones and the rest of them will stay the same. The ideal scenario is to make quiet ones...
