Ha! Me too. Barely.
How old is this fucker now, anyway?
I'm just surprised that I started one that has lasted so long. This is my first time on in a while.
You know what it is, no need to explain it myself.

Yamaha MSP-10 studio monitors in all black. Work and sound great, very powerful. When new these were $1600/pair and I'm asking about 25% of that because I want to move them fast to help me move into a pair of B&W Nautilus 804.
8 inch woofs, 1 inch tweeter, with built in power amps supplying a...
My premium modded 219 was probably the best buy I ever made in a microphone. I sold a Soundeluxe U195 for it and for half the money I got a WAY more clear, smooth sounding mic. Very clear in the top, but not peaky. It just sounds... natural somehow. I have an Sm-7 and an MD-441 as well and...
Or an even better choice for the same money if you go used (which is usually the smartest route)... an MD441. 10 times the rejection and way smoother than an SM-57. Then you can sell the 609 and buy something useful... like a better preamp, because the 441 needs even more gain than the SM7...
Damn Harvey is still kicking it at HR.com! Lots to learn from ole Harvey. I'm a little burned out on it myself, lately.
Glad you're alive Harvey! Hope life is treating you well.
Wow this thread is STILL alive. Crazy. Its like 5 years old.
My mic list is completely different. I think I have maybe oe of those ones from the original post heh.
Same ole topics around here though... "B1 or SM57?"
Neither! Pimp your grandma and buy something GOOD! ;)
He seemed like a cool guy, and for about $400 I got a mic that I like better than the Soundeluxe U195. So far at least. This mic is smooth and totally unsibilant, and natural. Killer deal by all accounts. Really.
Premium electronics mod into SCA A12 into the box. No EQ's or anything, but some reverb. This was done last night and is by far not finished, as its barely started, but the guy did some vocals with it so I thought I'd post the results. I think the vocals sound great, even though he's a little...
I;ve had Great River, API ,BAE and Seventh Circle. I think the Onyx are pretty damned decent for the price. They arent quite an API, but they work. Combine them with one or two good channel of API and do all 0f your dubs though the API and you are good to go.
What if its not what you are looking for? Dude, an API or Neve is EXACTLY what you are looking for if you do anything even remotely rockish. Unless you are doing classical, you want as many API's as you can get. You wont be sorry and the price is great. For only $375 you add another preamp...
No offense... but stupid idea. You can easily sell it if you dont like it, minus your time.
Did you add it all up? You end up getting the PS and chassis for almost free once you put it into the order form. Its a no brainer. You'd spend more trying it any other way, and this way wont blow your...
I'll have to bypass everyones advice and offer you the best advice yet. Sell your mics and pick up a Royer ribbon and a good preamp. I swear to you it totally simplifies things. 10 times easier, and the sound is superb. Filters out the nasty, leaves the tasty. You cant lose with one. Try one...
