in terms of software you should check out reaper, which is actually a very nice program that should have more then enough power for what you want to do
http://www.cockos.com/reaper/
its free to try and theres no time limit on how long you can use it, it's not limited and never expires, they...
If it has the sort of missile looking twist locks, I have a set of nab hubs and two 10.5" metal reels I would be more then willing to sell you at a much cheaper price then you could get elsewhere... let me know
evadbowl, yeah connect your 1+2 delta outputs, to the tape in of the mixer, then ensure that tape is the only option being sent to the control room and that tape is not being sent to main. Enable software monitoring in your daw, and that will allow you to create whatever sort of stereo mix you...
how are you routing
guitar>tuner>bbe>amp
or
guitar>amp>(out through fxloop)>tuner>bbe>amp
I believe the 6505 has a preamp out on the back, regardless of which way you have it routed you could remove the tuner from the signal chain and connect it to the preamp out... thus no more noise. Not...
as far as the grounding issues im unable to comment. the hp probably does have better specs and it's probably cheaper, but there's more to a computer then specs, i'll pretty much guarantee the lenovo has a better motherboard and higher quality more standardised parts from the bottom on up. The...
that may not even be a room... but rather a 3 walled enclosure to help with iso. If you look in the lower left it's either a door or the end of the wall. for some reason think thats not a full room, of course what do i know?:)
my personal preference would be the lenovo... for one I've always found ibm's to be extremely well constructed and solid.. and generally built with much better parts and design all around (lenovo is ibm's home division... its actually a little more complicated then that but basically... yeah)...
heh yeah it's hard to change routing thoughts away from how you normally do it yourself.... i think it took me about a week to be able to do even basic routing set up once i finally got a big board my thought process was to stuck in only having a single stereo bus:)
evadbowl,
let us know how...
ah yes now I understand... sorry to be keeping you up.
Your routing would definitely work, from what I can see those mute bottoms are basically a switch between the two bus's (main & alt)
So hard panning 2 on the main and 2 on the alt, should result in all 4 channels being sent independently...
also I know a bit of tascam mixers, if in the time before you manage you come up on a man. you can feel free to ask if you have any specific questions:)
i would give tascam a call first.... quality of the manuals that these mass sellers have is often somewhat dubious. I don't have any experience with that one so that may not be the case, but seems to be a common issue. And for a lot of things dealing with tascam direct ends up being cheaper...
seems mostly good... im not too familiar with the way behri boards route.... why is routing through aux2 not suitable for live/recording in that routing?
and correct me if I'm wrong but this would be how I would route according to my ability to read that:
mic 1 to channel 1 hard L, main L...
tascam/teac manuals are very hard to come by online as they still will reprint and sell them to you from the factory. you can give them a call and ask what they would charge, they are supposed to be quite reasonable.
any portastudio type device should be able to handle the simultaneous recording bit fine.. as you will only need two tracks (one piano, one vocal), look for something that has at least two xlr inputs and phantom power. You will also want to do some research on what mics your going to want, I...
