    Assim

Here's another "close to final" mix. Let me know of ANY suggestions you all have. It's called "Assim." Thanks. http://www.eng.utah.edu/~awilson/Assim.mp3

    Inside Your Head

One more question... how can I pan things so that things don't sound flat, without causing this "imaging" problem? Just bring things a little closer to the middle?

    Inside Your Head

Massive, thanks for the suggestion. I am wondering how I can back the drums up a bit, and still keep them very present in the mix. I still want to be able to hear them clearly, but not "in front"

    math rock

I agree, the melodies sound almost exactly like weezer. I really think you should find a drummer and lose the synthetic drums. I think they sound cheesy on a song like this. Guitar tone isn't bad, but needs some mixing and maybe another part to break it up a little.

We were, Once upon a time

Kind of like a new age Pink Floyd on the guitars. Good bluesy voice.

    "Maybe" - Mellow Acoustic song

I can't hear the vox at all. I think the guitar could be better with a rhythm besides the typical "down - down - up - up - down - up" strum. Vox needs to be louder and centered.

    Rock project final mixes

I really like the intro guitar riff on the first song. Nicely done. The shakers add a lot to the chorus. It's funny how much a little tiny shaker can solidify a mix. I think the triangle on the chorus is a little to present. Sounds good man.

    This one's called "Smoke Alarms"

we haven't mixed this one very much yet, so I will definitely keep in mind your comments. We are still going to add some shakers/aux percussion stuff on the choruses, and I will work with the guitars to fatten them up.

    Moody Rock Song

We've added some shakers and a tamborine to Assim. I don't have a copy yet, but when I get it, I'll post it. Here's the old version. http://www.eng.utah.edu/~awilson/Assim.mp3

    Getting Gigs

My band has been struggling lately to get some good gigs. It seems like the booking guys at all the clubs are just too good to even talk to us. We have a really good demo, but half the problem is we can't even get them to listen to us. What do you guys think we can do to start building a name...

    Rock song needs feedback!

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for the feedback on this song. I really appreciate it. Addressing some of the comments: The harmonic guitar notes may be a little loud, but I think if I bring them way back in the mix, they will color the background just enough to give it some extra depth. When I...

I like this a lot. Was the sample original on the vox where the chorus says "without a destination..." ?
