I guess it depends - it might be worth a shot Y-routing mic signal. Clean sound to one channel and the double of it thru some effects bus - say reverb+phase (kinda like Van Halen's guitar in Aint Talking Bout Love intro), then blend/pan them in a mix.
I wouldn't go for it but hell, it doesn't...
Get some cheap drum machine, or even a free drum-beat plugin.
Here -

an amazing free flash thing - you can visually arrange your own drum pattern, set the tempo and press the loop - feed the signal into your mixer's control room or anything...
You asked anyway :p
I had my first experience with Behringer when I bought small Tube Ultragain for recording vocals - although the mic I had back then completely sucked (sold as 3 units for 40 bucks :| ) - it made a hellofa lot difference. Damn I still use it as my guitar pre for DI...
Actually that gave me another thing to consider.. Is it harder to overdub/multitrack while miking the amp as opposed to DI recording? Coz obviously with the later you can just run the sound source into control room and record as many tracks as you want.
With the microphone being infront of the...
Funny thing, it's totally foolish but I'm for no apparent reason prejudiced against fender amps, probably because I associate them with 70s rock and blues (which is SO not my style). I played thru loads of fenders and I used Tube SuperSonic as my practice amp in university. They're good amps...
Ha, in the perfect world!
Well looks like you guys have clued me in. One thing though, newbish question again but - why get a preamp if I'm going to get the amp head
Or you mean like a pre for a microphone?
I suppose it's a very broad question, but I'd be mega-glad to hear some first-hand experiences before I decide whether to invest into a chain of effects processors, or a better amp + a good dynamic microphone.
The thing is, as opposed to miking an amp, I'm very happy with my guitar tone...
The only reason I'd use eBay for this would be when I'm gonna sell the box as "the box that Mish bought his compressor in", when I'm on the Guitar Legends cover :p :D
Yeah, I'm humble ^-^
Yep. To be honest the less effects you use, the easier it would be for you to master your own sound. Zakk Wylde only uses 3 stomp boxes (MXR chorus, his custom overdrive and EVH phaser, plus 2 wah's when he needs them) and he's got about one of the most unique/awesome guitar tone out there. If...
I'm Captain's Morgan revenge
MDX4600, yeah - I was thinking of buying that at first, but decided to get a 2-channel for the start. Great products - it looks like I'm a Behringer man for life now!
LMAO at the box thing :D
Hm so you equalize first ? I run thru metalzone, then EQ700 (that...
By the way, I have a question for guitar players. Where do you put compressor in your signal chain? I've read in one home recording totorial that it's best to compress the clean guitar, so I put it first, before all affects and stuff.
Would it be any better/worse if I connect the compressor...
I have a really heavy sound that comes from Boss MT2 and Behringer EQ stopmbox - that's with factory pickups on my $150 Peavy. It still amazes me that I can get this really bottom-end metalcore sound out of this guitar, but talk about gain overload though! I mostly play single-note riffs on the...
I don't know why it's such a big deal for me, but I was absolutely excited about getting this rack-mounted gate/compressor. Maybe coz it has this "professional studio" look about it, but I was jumping around the flat when I finally brought it home! So here's my new baby -
Still in the bag
I...
