    Reworked

The song is interesting. The recording does sound kind of lo-fi, but it might work for the song, but I am listening on cheap speakers right now so I can't comment too much.

    First song

I'm only listening on computer speakers, but it sounds pretty good to me. You were saying you are trying to figure out what else to put on it. I think what it needs is vocals, but I think you off to a great start especially if that is your first recording.

I wrote this last night- take a listen please!

I don't think it sounds too much like First Rays of the New Rising Sun (At least not enough to be a rip off). I think it does have a Jack Johnson feel too, but I don't think I'm ripping anything off, so I'm not too worried (Should I be?).

I wrote this last night- take a listen please!

Thanks for listening! I'm not too worried about the recording quality because I did it all with the built in computer mic. I'm not a fan of the drum machine either, but I just put that there until I can get a real drummer to do something more interesting. I might try scraping them now too...

I wrote this last night- take a listen please!

Last night I wrote this song. I don't have any recording gear with me right now so I had to just use my computer's mic and a cheap drum machine. I recorded this really quickly and it has a bunch of mistakes and stuff in it, but I would like to know what you all think about it just as a song...

    problems with pots

I found a pot that looks like it would work. I can get it for ten bucks. I can get a whole new thing for thirty bucks. What I think probably would happen if I bought the pot I would mess it up and end up buying the whole thing again :o

    problems with pots

I'm not great with a soldering iron so I guess I'll have to replace the whole thing. Hopefully the company will agree that it is a defective part and replace it.

    problems with pots

Would it be possible to take the pot part off and attach a new one to the circuit board? I attached a picture so you can see what it looks like.

    problems with pots

I just hope the company sees it that way.

    problems with pots

Thats what I was afraid of. Have you seen this happen often or do you think it was defective? It broke not even after five minute of use. I hope the company will send me another one, but the problem is I bought it several months ago and am just now installing it.

    problems with pots

Ok after lots of tinkering I finally got it wired, put strings on it and started to play. I installed an active eq control (artec sound BCU ((pretty much a tbx)). It is a push pull pot. I pulled it and the rod ripped right out. When I put it back in it just falls out. I am afraid that I...

    problems with pots

Ok thanks. I will try that. I just bought some 250k pots because from everything I read 1meg pots seemed a little too much. Do I need to use different resistors or can I use the ones that came with the pickups and original pots?

    problems with pots

I have been buidling a guitar for a while. I am working on the electronics and I am having a few issues. I am using vintage noiseless pickups and they are still fairly noisy (I compared them to a guitar with vintage noiseless on it and it was a lot quieter). The second problem is that when I...

    Simple audio interface

Thanks for your reply. So with any of these units will I be able to set it up like this?: Guitar goes into box-then into laptop- the back out into the monitors What if I want to just plug in my Ipod through it sometimes too? I know I can just get a y-cable and plug the Ipod in, but if I...

    Simple audio interface

what problems did you have with the fca202? I think the firebox is a little out of the price range right now, but I can pick up a fast track pro for cheap enough. Does anybody have experience with it and know about the latency with it?

    Simple audio interface

Ok thanks for the replies. From the research I have done it seems that getting a firewire device is the way to go because I really don't want latency. I just found out that I am going to be in a really small room and I don't think I am going to have room for an amp so I might try to use this...

    Simple audio interface

I am going away to college and I am looking for a simple audio interface to use with my macbook pro. I want to have at least a 1/4 input. XLR would be nice, but not required. I would it mostly to record ideas on guitar. It doesn't need to be high quality, because I am trying to use this just...

    Hooking up my new moniters

So I just picked up a few things today to just plug in the monitors. Radioshack didn't have miniplug to dual rca so I got a miniplug (1/8) to 1/4 inch adapter. So this is my setup right now: macbook pro output>1/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapter>1/4 to dual rca adapter> rca inputs on the monitors...

    Hooking up my new moniters

Just so you know there are 3 ways to plug into them. There is xlr, rca, and trs. Which would be the best. XLR is usually the best quality I think, if I remeber right. Do I just need to get some kind of 1/8 y cable that goes to xlr, trs, or rca? If so can anyone reccommend a certain model to...

    Hooking up my new moniters

I just got some KRK Rokit powered moniters. I am going to use them for mixing and for listening to music from my computer. The main reason I got them was for their small size because I am going to be using them in a dormroom. I was wondering what would be the best option for hooking the...
