New DP-008EX can't import WAV file.

I sent the same question to Tascam tech support. I'll post here if they reply.

New DP-008EX can't import WAV file.

I picked up a new DP-008EX today as a portable extension for my DP-24. I mastered it pretty quickly because the menus and functions are nearly identical to the 24. But can't for the life of me, get the WAV Import function to work. The 008 has a WAVE folder on the SD card, but when I create a...

questions on the dp008 i couldn't find precisely

I'd stick with the manufacturers power supply for everything. I think saving a couple bucks is not worth the risk of a non-functioning or damaging power supply. It's only 30 bucks at Musicians Friend. I only bought my DP-008EX today so don't have a lot of experience yet. I also have a DP-24...

    Tascam dp008ex mastering

I have a DP-24 AND a DP-08EX. Never tried mastering on either one. I always port to my PC and use CoolEdit2000 to master. Not sure but Audacity (free) can probably do similar functions.

Help setting up X2 on a 2 drive system

<<Interfaces>> I basically have only 2, a Roland/Cakewalk A100 keyboard and a Focusrite 8i6. However I use an outboard recorder (DP-24) for recording so I need 6 outputs. The Scarlett 8i6 only provides 4 analog outputs so I had to rig up a digital interface to get channels 5 & 6. Took me a...

Help setting up X2 on a 2 drive system

I've been running Sonar X2a on a laptop and finally got a heavy duty machine. Dell Optiplex 9020 i7 16gb memory with two 1tb hard drives. Anyway, is there anything I should do during installation to utilize both drives or can that be done after installation? And what things should be put on...

Would any DP-24 or DP-32 owners recommend the DP-32SD for $399?

I used a 2488 for years, along with Sonar driving external MIDI modules. It worked fine. My technique was to record the sound module parts one at a time, using the Tascam MIDI slave sync. That way each MIDI instrument was on it's own tracks and could be tweaked during final mix. Live tracks...

is it worthy to get tascam foot switch?

I have the RC-3F and love it. Although I ended up using it more on my GB-10 instead. Very handy to be able to start playback with my foot instead of bending over to hit the play button. - Bill

    DP-24 Song archiving procedure?

Actually with my old 2488, when I did a project backup, I would burn it to a CD or DVD for long term archiving. Also, after living through a major flood and losing the entire house, I discovered that PC harddrives don't survive whereas all our CD's and DVD's, after being washed with dish soap...

    DP-24 Song archiving procedure?

I've been using my DP-24 for a year now and have several completed songs left on my SD cards. The manual does not have any information about deleting songs so that they can be restored if needed in the future. Is it ok to use a PC and just cut and paste the song folder to backup? But the...

    DP24 SD card speed?

I've had a similar error. Turns out I hit the rewind button (stop+rew) before the last take completed writing to the SD card. I was not able to recover from that and had to use a new SD card. I use PNY 8gb class 10 cards. Available at Staples for around $10. Never had any other issues.

My feelings on the new DP 24

You are welcome to use my track sheet or modify it as you see fit. As for SD cards, you must use "class-10" cards. Anything less, including the card that ships with a new unit, will cause failures. Another way to corrupt a card, as I found out, is to hit Rewind before a recording take has...

    DP-24 Can't erase CD-RW

Actually it's just a case of a function that doesn't work, so that annoys me. :-) I am using Memorex CR-RW's which seem to be the most unreliable CD's I've ever used. I'll give it a try with another brand - if I can find one. Staples seems to carry only 2 brands; Memorex and Staples...

    DP-24 Can't erase CD-RW

I have used the DP-24 to burn CD-RW's successfully. The trouble is, I can't seem to successfully re-use them. I've done an erase using the DP-24 but it doesn't seem to work. I've even done an erase using Windows 7, which seems to work fine, but the DP-24 still won't use the erased CD. I get...

    DP-24 "Delete Unused" error

DP-24 "Delete Unused" error - more info My project contains 67 WAV files, named ZZ0000_1.wav thru ZZ0047_2.wav. The corrupted file is ZZ0017_1.wav. Is there any way to determine which track or take this belongs to? I don't seem to be missing anything in the mix although I haven't solo'ed...

    DP-24 "Delete Unused" error

I have a fairly large project, 4 minutes / 20 tracks that is complete and thought I'd do a "Delete Unused" before backing it up. During the delete process, it halted and gave me the following error: "Card Error - Please power off". However the DP-24 was frozen so I had to pull the plug. Upon...
