if I am reading that correctly, you can only record 4 channels at a time...you sure thats all you want?

by master track you mean the mixdowned track? If so, just start a new multi track and insert the mixed down wav. If you mean apply to all the tracks while still mixing them...you can run them through a bus. as for the levels, I believe that is under 'views'

may I ask who recorded it? Also, do you still have access to the raw tracks? I think recordings for the most part may be salvageable, but to me one of the reasons the vocals don't sound good (I only listened to one song), is because they are just kind of left out in the mix and are very dry. If...

where are the outs going to? I have done this for headphones and stuff, and yes there usually is some degradation of signal.

not sure if this will help, but after you bring it over, you can right mouse click on the wave form and then set the offset to zero.

there are probably a hundred ways to do this...I will give you a couple. 1) double click on the wav form and go into the edit mode, from there you can highlight and delete the silence. 2) from the multi track view you can select only the portion you want to play, again, just by highlighting it...

did you make sure the sound card is armed properly in Cool Edit Pro? Can you record using windows recorder?
