People's opinions are just that. An opinion and a dollar might get you a cup of coffe at the local Stop & Rob.
Audition a few different amps you are interested in at the local M&P shop or Guitaripoff Center.
You'll have to find some jumpers for those jacks or attach patch cables to close the circuit or you'll never get anything through the channels.

You may have a relay sticking on that channel card. IIRC from the schematic, it's usually 106 that is the problem child. They can be replaced cheaply if you can solder.
In the mean time, reseat the channel card and see if the condition improves.
