Yeah it's possible. What kind of keyboard do you have? A lot of modern MIDI keyboard work well with Cubase's Mackie MIDI thing.

Yeah, audacity and FL are different kind of animals. Definitely check out other daws just in case. I recommend looking into Cubase and Ableton.
