    Extreme Metal (With vocals)

sick song man. everything sounds great to me. are the drums made of any samples, or are they just pure recorded drums. if they're sampled, do you think you could post a sample for the kick drum. it sounds so sick! thatd be awsome. anyways, awsome song.

    <<Acoustic song comments/suggestion>>

for the guitar, i just put a crappy dynamic mic above the 12th fret pointed about 45 degrees towards the 21st fret. Then, a kick drum mic about a foot away from the bridge pointed diagonally. im not really sure what overtones are though.

    Tracking Levels

no im just micing the acoustic so i guess is anolog till the computer, should it really be that low though? i was doing it at about -9dbs. Why would it be best to trak it so low? Anyone else have another volume that they like to record acoustic guitars at? Also, what about vocals? thanks

    help?sound effects?

Do you have any multitrack editing software such as Sonar or traction? If so or anything like that, you can just make two different tracks. One with the song on it the other with the effect on it, then just move them around as you want

    Tracking Levels

Hey, I was wondering what are the best levels (in db)to track at for each instrument(guitar, drums, bass, vocals) or should they all be tracked at the same level? Also if one is just recording a song with just acoustic guitar and vocal, what would the levels be set to? or would they be the same as...

    Damage Plan - Demonizer!

Is it as noisy as it sounds in video? Does it have a gate on it?

    checkity check check it out.

Cool song. I noticed the two doubled guitars sound out of tune from each other. Also, the vocals sound a little soft in the beginning but flow well the rest of the way. Overall, pretty good. definately once you gets some drums rollin.

Early mix of a crunchin hardrock tune

Kick ass song song. Sort of reminds me of In Flames. I like that effect you got goin on when the vocals first come in(what effect is that?). Kick sounds great now. Everything sounds good to me except I think the bass could go down a little bit and I think the vocals might sound a little better...

    Tracking you own vocals.........

I have the same setup as mentalattica. Right next to each other. I usually record the vocals all through the song instead of recording short segments so I can get more focused into the music and dont have to switch between engineer and vocalist as often. Do a couple takes of the song all the way...

    New jammage critique

Right after I read your post I immediately noticed what you were talking about. So I gave everything a little less reverb especially the drums. I also added a little bass and little more body to the guitar. Here's the updated song. http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=4642 Thanks for...
