About the using two units, would I plug them both into different ports on the PC or daisy chain them since each unit has 2 ports?

1) Can (2) m-audio firewire 410 be used at the same time to double the channels? 2) On any interface (for example 8 analouge i/o) can all 8 outputs be used at the same time as the inputs? Or can only a total of 8 channels be used like 8i/0o, 4i/4o, 2i/6o etc? Thanks.
