I currently own the eureka, and have made the Burr brown mod myself, with nice results I might add. I also came across a web site that had audio clips of the jensen transformer, and the presonus custom transformer using the 5534 chips (I think that's the number of the opamps they ship with?) I...
I've owned both the firepod and the 410, and I would say that the firepod is a much better buy.
410: All unbalanced I/O except the mic pre's (very noisey by the way) and the drivers are finally stable but still a little glitchy; however, I still use this as my I/O when giging with my laptop...
Hopefully you guys can shed some light on to what is up with my event PS8 speakers. One speaker always seems to build up a ground hum over time. If I turn the speaker on and off it doesn't go away; however, if I leave it long enough it will eventually fade......almost like it's storing a...
Yeah,
The duct tape kills the long ring on the crash and ride. The amount you use and where you place it totally changes the tone. We experimented for a while, and we found some great usable stuff.
Cool way to get dark drums using duct tape
I just wrapped up traking for a new album and we needed that Neil young "harvest moon" sound for the drums. I asked a friend for ideas and this is what I went with. hope someone finds this helpful.
The first step was to put duct tape on the cymbals...
While I'm on OSX so the motu Drivers would be fine. The AD/DA converts are not such an issue between IO's anymore (in this price range anyway.) However, the clock and the built mic pre's could make all the difference. Any thoughts on that one???
Which unit is better. I know it's been asked, but I never saw a direct answer. The 896 has it's XLR connections on the back which would be nice with my rack gear. The firepod is cheaper, but has the connections on the front so I'd have to bring my snakes out the front of the desk....YUCK!! I...
I figured out the problem. I used multiple point grounding for each Panel mount Female xlr and then ran the wire to an external ground wire. The noise is all gone. :)
I know that this has been brought up before, but I can't find a solution yet. I built a 12 pair Mogami snake box for my drum room, but there is a hum in the signal. The box I built for my vocal booth is clean, but the drum room seems to pick up a hum from somewhere?? The wierd thing is that...
Thanks,
That makes sense with the 1/4"input. As far as "switchcraft" goes, I've gotten the impression that people use the neutrik xlr's as the preffered connecter; however, the switchcraft are more expensive aren't they?
I'll try my best to keep this making sense, but I've had to learn alot about studio wiring in the past few days.
Here is what I'd like to build as of right now.
1st room will be used for drums mainly or any other large group needs.
Snake for room 1 is 30' 12 wire snake with 8 Male xlr and 4...
