    I was wondering weather there is a small, inexpensive firewire interface that alows me to transfere from ADAT to logic and pro tools via the optical out. I know bigger cards have them, but i was looking for a small, specific one just to do this job, cheers.

    Cheers - bassically - i dont work much with midi - i tend to use it just for putting togeather song arrangments. But im looking for a grand piano sound that can be used in my final recordings, i dont have space for a real piano, and my piano playing likes the editing!

    Recording wet and dry

    right cheers for that, yer i dont tend to do much DI work on my guitar, i tend to mic and use the line out on the amp, but obviously both are wet signals, and are suprisingly different! But now im thinking id like to have a dry signal aswell incase.

    Is there/ what is the best way to record my signal wet and dry at the same time - as in - say im recording guitar, and i want to use the overdrive on my amp on it, but would also like to record a clean signal to blend in, or incase the overdrive isnt great in the mix.     right chhers - i was def. more in favor of the AT so thats all good. Guitar i mainly record on is a nice Takamine and vocals do what the do wellish, room for improvment for sure thou.

    Im looking into buying a 'nice' new mic for A.Guitar and Vox. Im thinking either the Joe Meek 47 or AT 4040. Ive not used the AT but hear good things, and have used a old JM 47 and been impressed. Anyone add to that for me? Cheers
