Im thinking about trying to get up to one tomorrow. Im just hoping that they have a decent selection for me to test. Its the only one in the area that might have a decent selection. we shall see
it looks like the cads are a large diaphram, and from the site I looked at they look to be like 200 a piece? I never noticed the studio project c4s, how do those work out? man its getting tough for me to actually make a decision. Im getting so many good tips, but Im not relaly able to narrow...
So once again as Im going off of peoples opinions here, Im thinking Gt 44s, and mc012. only problem is the 44s at 400 for both, are about a 100 dollars out of my price range. However if they turn out to really be noticably better than the oktovas I might think about it. Does anyone have...
Cloneboy, explain to me why you feel this way. Once again, I have not owned any of these, and Im just curious on which are the best to pick up. Why are the ones named not great, and why are the nt1s so great?
that is a very good comparison for me to understand. i definitely am looking for somthing darker than waht i have thats for sure. Does anyone know where I might get a matched pair of these? anywhere online?
So Im hearing great things about the oktavas. i was previously thinking hard about the rode nt5s. Since Im hearing so much about the oktovas, i gotta ask, which would you guys say are the better pick for drum overheads. the nt5s or the Mc012s?
and by the way as much as id like those gt 44s...
Dude that would be so awesome if you could do that for me! Let me know what your whole setup is just so i have an idea of what your working with. Thats actually good that your not working with a great room, Im currently in my parents basement. you work with what ya got right? let me know bro

Ok people. I have asked about this before, but this is my last chance to get advice. Im not friends with many recording enthusiasts, or drummers. I am purchasing a matched pair of OH condensers for drum recording.
The ones that I have looked at at all are like the rode nt5, the oktava MC012...

pro tools guy, I was sort of wondering the same thing. i dont know a whole lot but I have always heard about how great nt5s are as OH. I definitely dont want anything bright, but I wouldnt think they would be too bright.
Im looking for overhead condensers for recording drums. I have narrowed it down to these 2. Both look like very decent mics. Im guessing that the nt5s might be better, but they are also more expensive. If the c430s are good enough I may not need to spend that extra cash. Anyone who has used...
