i don't understand why this is a problem. doesn't Sonar5 allow you to do this? I know that you can import a 24bit track and use 16bit drivers for playback?
you can also do 32-bit internal precision for sound processing and then kick out to 16bit playback.
you should absolutely be able to...
Hey Fairview,
I was in St. Charles a few weeks ago teaching a course in Technical Architecture. Went to the mall and got a Hollister t-shirt, went to Al Capone's steakhouse and got my grub on, and then went to the cadillac ranch and got my groove on.
I use peak for recording, and peak + rms for playback.
watching the peak meter gives you a good visual for where you may need to set your compressor threshold to tame the peaks.
watching the rms meter gives you a good visual for where that track is sitting in the mix.
Those peaks will be the...
that's what i was thinking too. if its just one or two identified spots, go into your wave editor and fix the problem rather than putting a compressor on the whole track. of course if you do put a compressor on the whole track, you should set your threshold so that only those two spikes cause...
are these five tracks on individual track rows in sonar? is there a reason you are doing a select all?
have you already figured out the tracks level relative to each other and now just want to raise them to the peak relative level, or do you want to raise each track such that its peak...
multiband compression is also good for drum mixes. if your band is short on recording inputs and you are recording a live show multiband compression can help keep that kick drum from overpowering the mix.
if you don't have a matched pair you won't have an accurate recording of the stereo field and you have to start playing around with the EQ knobs to get things balanced. and then once you get things balanced, you will probably still have to play around with the EQ to get things out that you...
then you need a unbalanced/balanced converter. Now if you got big money, you can get one of those 8 channel Tascam convert doohickie's for $500 bucks.
if you're trying to get the most while spending the least, I think this converter is what you are looking for...
why not record it dry and wet onto separate tracks. get a splitter and send the signal both directly to the 1804 and to the 1804 via the POD.
of course, i'm just posing a question. i've never done it myself.
i either record via my amp (Fender hot rod) to an SM57 or via SansAmp classic & FMR...
i use to have a mackie 1604 and a frontier design tango24. I stuck Y cables into 8 of the 1604 inserts and put the other end into the in's and out's of the tango24. the tango24 had an internal (software) patch bay. so i could connect the in to the out and be able to monitor on the same mixer...
when you say Performance, are you talking about the Performance mode of the XV2020 (I have the XV3080 and it has performance, patch, and gm).
or does the A90 contain a sequencer that allows you to play back and chain songs together?
Or you can buy a midi splitter so that you can send the midi output (including MTC) from the keyboard to the AW4416 and MPC without having to worry about whether your timing will start to drag.
midi filter for guitar synth and fx
So i had this great idea.
instead of finding a 2nd keyboard player, i'll midi up my guitar.
WORKS GREAT, i even find some pad sounds that give an added essence to my normal guitar sound. for guitar fx, i had an alesis quadraverb velcro strapped to the side...
I've seen this b4 in older sonar and CPA versions. I fixed it by wiping out the picture cache.
also, is it possible that you have a second track masking the first one? Can you drag that clip to a new track?
i wonder how much gregh. paid ultrafunk for sonitus? since they were going under, i'm sure he got it for a song. as far as i'm concerned cakewalk didn't have effects plugins at all before Sonitus... well thats not true... becuase they started using the DSP-FX stuff before Sonitus and that is...
if you can have each drum part assigned to a different midi channel, then you can record each drum part to a different track. but that seems like too much work to me. just record the drums in one track and then use the split note CAL script to split each note to a different track.
