Hmm good question about whether I need to upgrade or not... I'm not even sure what the update does... I just know I have version 1.0 which I've never heard anybody else claim to have... Are there any real benefits to upgrading?

hey thanks for the help there as to what kind of noise? well when i'm micing anything really, just a general sort of hissing which is pretty annoying. like i said i've got a shure sm57 and sm58, which go direct into the vf80... i'm thinking maybe a mic pre would help? i don't really know...
