Seeking condenser mic for high male vocal

Thanks for the heads-up on these two mics. Both received good reviews from what I've found. Seems like that will work.

Seeking condenser mic for high male vocal

I'll keep that in mind. If I'm going to do that, I'll be saving for a while. Any particular models in particular that I should be looking for?

    Get any new pedals lately?

Bought the OCD. Absolutely impressed with it from day one. Still got the Tubscreamer it replaced, but man...the difference is fresh apples to wrinkly, dry oranges.

Seeking condenser mic for high male vocal

Like so many that post in here, I'm looking for answers...and hopefully y'all can help. I have a high male voice. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with a budget LDC mic (range $100.00 to $300.00) that has a decent (maybe even full) sound, but no harsh high range. I've made...

Trouble recording with Ableton Live 8

You're welcome. Glad I could help (if any of that did help). Sorry I didn't mention setting the Windows preference. Kind of assumed you'd done that.

    Best Compressor Plugins

That's the one I mentioned. Easy to use, and functional.

Trouble recording with Ableton Live 8

It most likely told you when you fired up Live 8 that the interface wasn't correct. Witzendos is right. Go to the tab labeled Options in the upper left hand side of your screen, scroll to the bottom of that list and click on Preferences, then click on the second selection from the top labeled...

    Best Compressor Plugins

API 2500 gets used a lot on my computer. Believe it or not, I'm still a fan of the free Kjaerhus compressor. It functions well enough for some stuff.

    Looking for new recording interface

Thought I'd stop back in and comment on this. I've been using the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 with my laptop since I brought it home. It's worked well so far with no glitches, static, or failures. I've used it with both Reaper 4.0 and Ableton Live 8 with no issues. So far, it's been a nice addition. :)

Does anyone still enjoying and using their all-in-one multi-track recorders?

I have a two friends with that same recorder. One uses it for his rough demo stuff, but the other guys completes each recording entire;y on that unit. It's impressive.

    Pedal Y splitter?

DOD 240 Resistance Mixer Run your input into the output and it will work just fine. Did this last night to record a direct guitar signal as well as a mic'd amp, then did it for bass. Worked just fine. The 240 is a useful tool to have around, anyway.

Does anyone still enjoying and using their all-in-one multi-track recorders?

On the subject of importing tracks... The Tascam wasn't all that easy when it came to importing tracks. Fostex had a program called Wav Manager, but I could never get it to work right. I found where a current version had been released yesterday and downloaded it. We'll see if it works or not.

Does anyone still enjoying and using their all-in-one multi-track recorders?

I have a Tascam DP-01FX and a Fostex MR16 that I use to record ideas from time to time. I haven't really used them much since last fall. I did bring the Tascam back out of storage last week for that reason, though. It's very easy to use, and easy to remember where all the functions are. The...

    USB/Firewire interface - multiple inputs

M-Audio makes some useful stuff. If you would like to use a USB interface, check out the Fast Track Pro & Fast track Ultra. If you're thinking of using a Firewire device, there are some underlying issues that may be troublesome in the long run. From personal experience, I can tell you that even...

    distortion pedal wanted

Used TubeScreamer reissues for years until I bought an OCD. I did a lot of research, asked around to see who's using what, and went from there. I have not been happier with an overdrive pedal. It's an absolutely amazing device, and it's not that expensive. For the record, a properly modded...

    Looking for new recording interface

Took a gamble last night and bought the Focusrite Scarlet 8i6 instead. I've been a devoted user of M-Audio for years, and have many of their products. It was $50.00 more, but I ended up with 4 quarter-inch outputs instead of the 4 RCA outs on the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, as well as Focusrite...

    Looking for new recording interface

Howdy, y'all. Been working quite a bit lately, and haven't had much time for recording. I recently sold some gear to get a decent laptop (Toshiba Satellite w/an i5 running Win 7 recording with Reaper and Ableton Live 8). I wanted to be able to record on the laptop, so I looked around and found...

Parallel Compression: How is it done and is it useful?

Well, you never learn until you go ahead and try. I gave it another shot this morning. I even rendered the entire recording to a stereo track, then opened that up on another track in Reaper. After some EQ and compression, it appeared to help fill things up. I won't do it all the time, but I...

Parallel Compression: How is it done and is it useful?

This has been probably the most useful thread I've seen in a few weeks. I actually tried this Saturday on a drum track created with EZDrummer. I rendered the drum track by itself to a stereo wav, and then compressed after opening in a new track. I think I compressed the stereo track too much, as...
