If you can get the sounds you want from the multi-fx pedal, go for it. If you do the homework, you can make some nice sounds with lots of the available gear out there. I think what CaptGoldenEars said is true...that standalone pedals DO sound better, but ultimately you have to do your own...

Spent years playing Fender silverface stuff. They generally had useful clean sounds, especially the Princeton Reverb or Pro Reverb. Wish I still had both, at times. My Mesa Boogie mk III actually has a very balanced clean sound. I've been impressed by how versatile this amp is time and time again.

Go check out EZ Drummer. I mentioned EZ Drummer to a local friend that wanted to record something other than the drum module sounds in his electronic kit. He seemed satisfied. Might be worth checking out. Good luck. Hope you find something that works for you.

Hmmm. Haven't seen that before. Not familiar with this VSTi, either. Did you try posting this over on the Reaper Forum? Those guys can be extremely helpful.
