Less expensive overseas models often have an actual maple cap but the top that you see is a figured maple veneer. They can pitch it a a figured maple top, because it ‘is’ a maple top, but it’s cheaper than an actual solid figured maple top that US made models have.

It’s fine. You have nothing to worry about. Your voice fits in quite well, especially considering the whole song has that ‘Euro vibe’.

If yours are missing, you’ll have to get some. But they’re hard to find….or get some short RCA cables, or hook the inserts up to a 20 input NORMALIZED patchbay. Maybe @sweetbeats will chime in as to where exactly in the signal chain the effects insert points are.

@Jimi Shelter Do you have your jumpers on the insert jacks?? (The very top set of jacks) Without those it won’t work. Unlike other mixers with a TRS insert jack, you have separate phono jacks for the in and outs of the effects lnserts. They need to be physically connected with the jumpers...

With my mixer I’m running a 16 track so I’m using direct outs and tape in on the first 16 channels. I’ll use the remaining channels for effects returns. In your case with an 8track you could use the 8 busses. Sweetbeats calls them programs. Study the 3d video I posted. It covers the back...
