    Audiobox USB96 Problem ??

No experience with that interface myself. Go through basic steps first. Try to see if there is a driver update for your device and system. https://legacy.presonus.com/support/downloads I have heard a few times about USB ports settings can go to sleep. I have never experienced it with my PC's...

Acoustic panels or acoustic foam? Room treatment

This kind of depends on what space you have in your room. What size is it? Are the corners open space? Small spaces and square rooms are the worst for controlling low end. The room modes can make it virtually impossible the get rid of peaks and nulls. That does not mean it can't be improved...

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Sweet! Thank you and welcome to the forum! We could really use a recording software expert here. You should really take your business link there into your signature line. It is not allowed to promote directly in posts. It is considered spam. Totally cool to have a link in your profile...

Preamps. What mic preamps are you using? Discuss them.

That is mostly all I do in my studio is record other peoples broken dreams. LOL! I kid... I often play drums, bass or triangle when needed. Have been rehearsing with my band members from my 90's rock band. Hope to record some new stuff and some things that were never recorded correctly. Kinda...

Preamps. What mic preamps are you using? Discuss them.

I have had great results with the preamps in my two Steinberg UR824's. I do use a Vintech Audio X73i as my sweet channel for basically everything that gets tracked after drums. And use it on snare when recording a whole kit. I also have used a Behri ADA8000 to get to 24 tracks if needed while...

    Shame

Great to hear music from you again! Did you just buy the Mixland Subloom? It sounds like you may have forgot about the low end of the bass guitar. Just sayin... One or those toms are way out in front. Even the snare just needs some love. It all isn't quite cohesive. The bass and guitar...

Where have all the acoustic drums gone ?

And then there is the broken sticks thing. If a stick wasn't broken during a great record, it wasn't worth recording. IMO. :)

Where have all the acoustic drums gone ?

There is the biggest part of the actual 'feel' of electronic or programmed drums. Nothing compares to an actual player on a kit, in a room. When one programs drums, there isn't that human factor that exists in the real world. And even programing drums created by a drummer, it just does not...

Behringer are going for AMS Neve now

I seem to be finding lately that I only use eq to fix more things than for actual tone shaping. That being said, a good preamp in definitely helps with some -dare I say 'warmth', but not sure it is not necessarily that much different from a interfaces preamp in. But I don't have a shit ton...

    Talk about room reflections . . .

As far as I know,. there are no server issues here today. I got your pix. Maybe it was just a bad day?

    Talk about room reflections . . .

I see all of the pics. Looks like a great place to track! A total shit storm for mixing in however. I am sure the control room doesn't look like this.. Unless a smaller space like most of us home guys have, I don't really see a bunch of absorption needed for a large tracking room. And this...

    Waisted threads

Great tones and playing. Definitely much out of balance in the mix tho. Especially that snare. It's just not right... Anyway, a Monday quarterback not trying to talk shit. Just my thoughts. I can help with that mix if you desire. I haven't done my yearly 'pro bono' mix yet...

What's the difference in recording/mixing/mastering between these two different music? Wide and crisp versus smooth and small

They are different. It's just what it is. Mix and master for what your personal intentions are. I'm not actually not understanding what the question is I suppose. What do your ears tell you to lean toward? Go there. (y)

The plugin scam exposed. Did you fall for it?

Yeah, I agree and disagree with him. But then I already landed on the FabFilter eq as my go to when needed. So he isn't selling me anything really. A stock or integrated eq on channel in Cubase is usually all that is needed for simple adjustments. High pass or notching out something. If I need...
