    Relative EQ-ing?

Don't you mean, what is thot? Lol. Actually I think Spazz hit the nail on the head about the eq. Good post.

    1st mix from home

Did you track this one at home as well as mixdown at home? Or is it the mixdown only that you did at home? Sounds good. You have Eminem samples I think. But, they are mixed well. The instruments sit well for me. Just the introduction vocal I think is a little too loud and dominant. Can reduce...

    October-November Challenge - Joseph's reviews

Thanks for the reviews Joseph. HapPy Christmas. Crikey, I better write a Christmas song.

How do these CHORUSES sound so thick and full!? I know you know! haha

Also taking a copy of the main vox track, high passing it and adding reverb tails ... Don't know exactly how really just that it sounds a lot like a little delay, then verbing. Also, when I listen closer to the instruments these days it seems like most songs have a pad doing pretty much the...

    My new Tele build

I've got a 50th ann. Strat in black and I'd like to strip the lacquer off. Does it ruin the guitar or diminish the value doing that?

How do these CHORUSES sound so thick and full!? I know you know! haha

I know exactly what you mean by your original question. When I listen to chorus vox I am looking for evidence that they double tracked - that is two seperate takes whether same notes or harmonized. Usually I hear harmonies. But, sometimes, the chorus is soo thick and warm yet I can't hear any...

What are your eq tips for bass line in the mix?

The original question was answered on page one. Basically the guy wanted to know the best places to start the eq for the bass. So many purists jump in and say 'Use your ears!' Well, when you are looking for a starting point why not ask and from there can use one's ears and tweak according to the...

    Communication Breakdown-JoeyM/BushM4 Mix !!!

F yeah. Well done. Love those 'insane's especially and the vox slide moments and the Wows. Fantastic. Seems like you had this song when young or something. Because so familiar sounding. Excellent vox/gat chops. Wow.

    Oct-Nov Challenge ~ Geck's recording effort

Note-perfect harmonies. I am not a little envious of your tracking and mixing and decent levels without any clipping whatsoever.

Your Winter Eyes ~ Geck's music to Joseph's lyrics

On the contrary about the voice - the harmonies are very melodic. Your music is well recorded. I am quite envious how you get your highish levels without clipping.

October / November challenge - Joseph's critiques of the participants

Thanks Joseph. There is a link in the original post for this. I didn't realise the challenge was lyrical rather than musical/both so had already made it. http://www.box.net/shared/os5vzdo8yd

    Absolution City

Very, very well made. There's a lot more in the left. Drums are way over there, as are most of the instruments. But, it's nice instrumentally. Touches of 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond' come thru for me. It is not as 1920's retro as you think - is more modern than that. Maybe finger snaps are a...

    Full band with horns

I get this played at 24kbps, is this right? How about boosting it to 198 or 320? Might get a lot more dynamics out of it ... It sounds good musically but is really flat due to lack of dynamics. This is not 24bit sample recording, but 24 kilobites per second recording. You mustn't do that.

Vocal technique... make your vocals sound much better very easily!

Do you mean enhance the gain on the lows and highs and pass them, or do you mean cut the lows and highs and shelve them?
