    If you want or have the need to upgrade.. then i would say get a mixer.. like a small mixer behringer or Alesis do have some great little mixers for the money... You will have to look at the whole picture.. Ask yourself if you want to record a band or your own band, add any synths to your setup...

    saving data on the DMT-8?

    Yeah it's the same.. You might need a special wave form.. but you can try it any way using cubase.. also you might want to update the software.. check out fostex website and see if you can still do that.
