    Fulltone Clyde wah

Anyone using one of these? I just bought a used deluxe and I'm pretty impressed. It has a really good range and is easy to make it sound expressive. Shafts mode is what it says, great 70s **** clean clack guitar wah. Wacky mo is a wider frequently range with what seems like a volume boost cut...

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

Thanks, man. Regarding poor man's LP, every Les Paul I've ever heard sounds like an LP. Voodoo this and magic that, at the end of the day they all sound like Les Pauls with subtle differences only players can hear. Still enjoying your Blackstone Club 40?

lol. I can't remember which sounded worse, the bandit built-in distortion or the DOD performer, but it was not a good OD tone point in my life. That much I remember.

I have the Joyo version of your PS built by the same 7 year old Chinese kids. Works fine.

I used a DOD performer series distortion with an 82 strat through a peavey bandit 50 amp, and later a peavey musician head and 4x12 cab. My tone was not very good back then. :)

The singer for my high school band in 83 had a rat. I liked it. It had a raw, beefy sound to it.

    New Guitar

That guitar has some gorgeous graining happening. Neck thru body, beautiful natural colors...that is a fine looking instrument!

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

Here are a couple more pics. It is brighter than my Custom. Custom I bought about 4 months ago. I have a black std., but always wanted a black custom since playing a 76 custom in the 90s that the owner let me borrow for a few months and then refused to sell. He didn't play and it was passed...

Favorite mic for recording a Bassman RI and a tele?

Sm57 close mic off axis, or if the room is really good then any decent LDC 4-6' back. The mic I did not like on a guitar rig (not as much as a 57 anyway) was the e609. I loved it on snare, though. It was a little thinner sounding than the 57. Liv rong bought it and I think he likes it.

    Orange Tiny Terror 12" combo

This is my new amp. I was looking for something more compact for easier transport. Always loved the Orange tone. I checked out the discontinued UK made ad15 model, but decided on a used TT. The tt has a raunchier tone. Plus, my current tone idol Jeff Massey plays a dual terror, occasionally a...

    2016 Les Paul

At least they had the good sense to realize most buyers don't want robot tuners, hollowed out bodies, built in wifi transmitters, etc. In a classic guitar model. They discovered the same thing in the 80s with the pink les Pauls and kahler-equipped harmonic dive bomber models. Nothing wrong with...

Good info. There is an exception to the ts808. The first ones used a different circuit board with dual 1458 oPAMP chips. The 35th anniversary from 2014 recreated that circuit, except they used double 4558 chips instead of the 1458. My ts808 isn't near as aggressive as my ts9 (Malaysian chip)...

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

Les Pauls were meant to have pickup covers. I agree on the pickguards, too. The owner had it off and it's in the case, just haven't had motivation to put it back on yet. Dig your studio, miner. Of course, I pretty much dig any gibson les paul. :)

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

I'll post some more pics later. It's an '86 reissue of a '59. These are also known as prehistorics. It is non-weight relieved and made by what would officially become the custom historic division in the early 90s. It has Tim Shaw PAF reissue pups, same as in my '85 LPC, but two sound totally...

Depends on the year and parts inside, but generally the TS9 (later original ones and reissues) are aggressive, raunchy overdrives, which I love. The TS808 still sounds like a Tubescreamer, but a little less raunchy, maybe in the mids. I just picked up a Wampler Faux Tape Echo that sounds...
