    Korg Nanopad Question

You are correct, used the toggle control. Set up your Korg button to 127 "on" and 0 (or -1) when it toggles "off". In software, you are only sending the "on" message on the first press and "off" message on the second press. This may not be exactly how Fruity interprets these values, but you...

For all you old farts (born before 1967)

My Mother bought my first Electric guitar with S&H Greenstamps. It took another 14 months to save up enough stamps for the matching amp.

    I love solid state.........again.

While I've been a tube snob most of my life, I have dabbled with solid state amps maily because they're so easy to carry. In the late 90's I campaigned a Traynor Bloc100g that had a pretty believable Marshall-esque lead channel. Then I went back to my beloved tubes. Today it's the Fender...

    Triggering horizontal loops, not vertical??

I'm trying to use Ableton as a simple drum machine in a live setting. I've pretty much mastered triggering loops as one shots within a vertical track. In other words I've got a straight drum loop in slot one and fills loaded in all the slots below it. I can get the fills to play once and then...

Ableton 7 vs Sonar 7 Producer.....

I have been with Cakewalk/Sonar so long that Ableton's GUI barely makes any sense at all to me. Although I was able to map midi functions to everything in a couple of hours, it's midi features are practically useless. Having said that, Ableton almost seems more "live" in it's nature, including...

Korg Nano Kontroller Keeps Turning Off

No prob Doc. I've had pretty good luck with mine, but it hasn't been as easy getting everything working as it could have been. Took me a while to get a grip in the software editor. Use mine mostly with Line6 software which is kinda hinky too.

Korg Nano Kontroller Keeps Turning Off

I've had problems getting the 'puter to recognize the driver before, nothing that drops out like you describe. I'm sure Korg would tell you it's a usb issue and not their problem. Are you using a hub? Anything else usb connected? What OS? As usb "polls" constantly, looking for other...

    Midi controller

I've got an Axiom25. You know if you hit the transpose key up from say 0 to 2, you get another 25 assignments right? you can of course access 88 piano keys on a 25 key controller with the transpose function. On mine, there's a down pad and an up pad, so with the press of one button I get...

What was your guitar/bass epiphany ?

I was about 12 and on a family vacation. My Tele was about 800 miles away. All of a sudden the exact fingering (bends and all) for the intro to Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" was somehow "delivered" to me. I had never bent a string on purpose and yet I knew that as soon as I got my hands on...

Pro Audio 9's audio view in Sonar

If you left-click inside any track and drag the mouse, you'll create a shaded "area" inside the track. You can use hot keys to solo, mute, or shift-crop this data inside the track without harming the clip at all. Let's say you want to kill a clunker in an otherwise perfect take, or even take...

Pro Audio 9's audio view in Sonar

True, Sonar does not have a wave editor. They now use the tools menu to load shortcuts to your favorite third party wave editors. BUT....Sonar now has "slip-editing" which can be accessed though hot keys. VERY handy.
