Got my KSM44 today. Now I don't have to use the "Golden Eagle" for vocals anymore :D

Here is my room (this is actually 5 pics morphed into a panoramic view).

    let me see your studio!

Hey Bruce - those pics are great as usual - but I think you've outgrown that POD Pro. Go ahead and send it to me and I will dispose of it properly for you. Thanks man! um, I mean - No need to thank me! Brad

    Opinion - string noise

I, for one, think it sounds great! But if it is bothering you, and you have a choice of mics to use (or one with a switchable pattern) you might want to try a hyper cardioid pattern and play with positioning. I've heard of people eliminating some of the string noise that way. But really, it...

    ART DI/O preamp

Well, got the ART DPS DI/O Preamp today. I am very pleased with this thing so far. All I have been able to do is hook up the analog outs (I thought I had an extra SPDIF cable lying around - my bad!) and they sound fine. I mean, this is not an Avalon or even a Focusrite, but it is pretty...

    Is the re a program?

Well, there is a program that does this, but they are currently out of stock. It looks like you can leave an email address at their site, and they will notify you when the software is available again. I have this program somewhere. I got it a long time ago. Never did install it though. Check...

    ART DI/O preamp

I've got an ART DPS DI/O en route via the big brown truck. I will post back here in a week or so when I've received the sucker and have tried it out. Brad

Loop Tempo Sync with MIDI Tempo

Hey tdukex, How are you getting that bass line out of Acid? Are you rendering it and then bringing it into Sonar? If so, I think you need to beatmap it to get it to work right - and I don't think Acid 2 has the bearmapper gizmo. If so, that may be the problem. I would try constructing the bass...

    Tascam DA-88

I prefer the TASCAM - but I have limited experience with ADATs, so I wouldn't be the best judge. I just plain don't care for a lot of Alesis' gear. DA-88's were the standard in most post-production houses. I don't know if they ever got the "industry standard" tag in most recording studios -...

    Tascam DA-88

It is an 8 track digital tape recorder (DTRS) and uses the Hi8 digital video cassette format. I think you can have a chain of 16 machines for a total of 128 tracks. You can get a remote unit to control 4 of those units at a time (I think 4 is the max on the big remote unit). Do you know what...

    Octava MK319 at GC

Oh, and those Bellari pre's are pretty noisy, but I keep one around in case of emergencies. It does an okay job in a pinch. Not like you are getting two fine pieces of gear, but for the price, I think the mic is a great deal (providing you find one that sounds decent).

    Octava MK319 at GC

I think it is a decent mic - but here is the trick - go into GC and have the salesman grab like 10-15 MK319's and then hook 'em up and listen to each one. These things are handmade. You will find that some sound good, some sound like the mic is tightly packed in dung, and you may find one that...

Shure KSM44 thru an ART PRO MPA - Anybody?

Anybody using this combo, and if so, how is it working for you? On vocals specifically - I know it will do what I need as far as acoustic instrument recording. I want that versatility, but I also want it to make me pee myself with glee when I hear vox through it. Thanks, Brad

MIDI sound module question: General Q

The Korg Triton Rack may be something to check out. It is upgradable and expandable. You can route individual sounds to a total of 6 analog outs. It is also a sampler, so you can get your own drum sounds in there if you want. Brad

    DM24 MOTU and TDIF question

Don't have an answer for your question, but here is a link that has the DM-24 manual and other documentation. Good luck! http://www.tascam.com/products/digital_mixers/dm24/downloads.php

    web posting without copyrite?

I don't know the answer to your first question, but I would check into it before you do it. Don't put it past people in the music industy and just think nobody would come after you. Bloodsuckers even like little drops of blood. In response to the second part of your question, you would either...

    Volume II Cover Art

You know, something didn't occur to me until now - the bathroom shot is almost a sequel to the inside of the insert for Vol. I (with Clayton perched upon the throne). Hehe. I like it even more now. Slack, you unload all of Vol. 1 yet?

Music for Porn Movies - Would you do it?

Snuff films? Is that where the chick takes a big wad of Skoal and shoves it in her trap while she is getting doinked? Or where a dude spits chew snag on the girl's stomach? If that is what you're talking about, then that is my kind of porn.
