Actually EZ drummer is what I've been using for a number of years, with the Nashville Drums pack, but lately I've been using Addictive Drums as I think they're more realistic and punchy. This tune however, I used Groove Agent as I just upgraded to Cubase Artist 7, and Groove Agent comes with it...

Well I don't like putting anything synthetic in my recordings usually, except the drums which I have no choice.. But the saxophone is a sampled one. All along I was thinking "nah, I should take it out, sounds ridiculous.." Glad you think it sounds ok! Actually this tune has sampled standup...

Hmm.. I always use parallel compression on the drums, but never on the vocal yet.. will have to try it! Thanks for comments!

Now that I listen again, the vocal seems too quiet.. Is the link working?

This sounds really nice, smooth and jazzy! I really like the guitar playing too.. The vocal sounds to me like it might be a bit heavy on the reverb. The back vocal jumped out sometimes because the high end sizzle seemed over the top.. Overall I like it very much!

My daughter made me the shaker when she was little, it's a plastic Barbie egg with black eyed peas inside.. LOL! The guitar just goes through a boost pedal, and through my Echo Mia card and is recorded dry. Then it's processed with Amplitube. The drums are Addictive Drums played on a keyboard...
