    copyright b4 mp3?

Poor Man's Copyright I don't see why using registered mail wouln't hold up as a copyright, people in other industries use this method also. Maybe Lawyers would laugh at it, but the judge wouldn't! Are you saying that Taxman's suggestion is falso, we need methods that have held up in court...

I got my music up . Please check it out!

Nice One Mate! Shana, I listened to "The Music Won't Last" . I enjoyed the melody very much and your voice sounded very sweet to me. I personally think you need to drop the cheesy keyboard, reduce the reverb on the vocals and add a guitar and drums (real drums) and you would be on your way...

    cassette demo off the board

Emm, this was pretty bad I'm not one for beating around the bush, so I'll say it straight, this was pretty awful. It was all cover versions and not very faithful reproductions at that. I'm sorry but I didn't think homerecording.com was a board for tired cover versions. How about giving us...

new mix of "Deal" still needs work - constructive criticism required!

The Song "Deal" Although I'm not a professional, I am an excellent critic! I found the song quite bass heavy and the vocals a trite loud in the mix. There was a lot of extreme reverb on the voals that might sound a little clearer if the reverb was more subtle. I enjoyed the song though it...

    genre

The Thrigs Rats, I found this music to be most fitting as an Industrial-Rock genre. I also found some space-rock similarities, you know kind of like Hawkwind stuff. ps. What song do you like the best?

I recorded these 3 songs on my fostex x-26

Thanks for the reviews folks. Yes, I am quite a fan of Mansun I find their style of Rock very contemporary (without sounding like grunge or rap/rock). However I have never heard the band Travis so can't comment on that. This batch of songs has been my first real attempt to have something that i...

    Free Software!

As a newbie here, I'm wondering if there is any useful free software out there and I'm not talking about 30 day demos but actual free software such as Audiograbber etc. Multitracking software would much appreciated etc.

I have a Fostex X-26 and while i think i have figured most of it out, I still have not figured how to double-track on it yet. Unfortunately there were no instructions with it and I have no clue where to find instructions, can anyone shed some light on this matter?

    Miking Drums with One SM58

I have been miking my whole drum kit with one sm58 and pointing it at the kick-drum, it actually picks up pretty well and gives a reasonable sound. Are there any tips for getting a better sound just using the one mic?
