    Egg and chicken question

Well, it all goes to motivation, right? I make music because I like to play, and I record it because I want to left something behind (call it a legacy if you like). Since we play death metal, chances are no more than 100 people will be really interested in our stuff, but that thought make me...

    Egg and chicken question

As far as I'm concerned, artists earn money with tours, not with records. Unfortunately, since we're a two piece band we're not able to play anymore... but we still like to compose and record our music.

    Egg and chicken question

That's the reason I appreciate you Greg! You got my point. By the way... no fans, no money... no money, no records... no records, no music... no music, no fans...

    Egg and chicken question

You're a funny guy! You know Greg, it might sound as a contradiction by I want to have a fan base of people interested in my music. I'd be happy if I could release an album every two years as a studio band (concerts don't cut for me.) Money *ahem* will only be necessary to cover recording and...

    Egg and chicken question

Thanks to you both, your thoughts are right. There's something else I didn't mention: money is not my goal here. Basically, what I need is a distribution channel and I my first thought was a label that could do that. If marketing is the clue, I should 'move' my music first, and then look after...

    Egg and chicken question

Hey guys, I'm in a dilemma right now and have so many questions I don't know where to start. Well, our band had independently recorded a second full-length album, which is ready for replication. This time we would like to approach a label and try to expand our music. My plan is to prepare nice...

Beats by Dre, what's the hype?

Just to clarify, I'm using AKG cans to monitor. I agree that they're overpriced, for 100 bucks I get a really good Sennheiser headphones.

Beats by Dre, what's the hype?

Hey guys, did you have the chance to try Drm Dre cans? I really have my doubts on this kind of products sponsored by artists. What I'd like to know if they can compete, in terms of sound fidelity, to the most well-established brands like AKS, Sennheiser or Bose.

Which kick is better? Drummers' help required!

Thanks, I was afraid it was too thin. Sure has a bottom but I wanted to try another possibility, that's the reason behind the second track.

    Guitar Tone Help Critique

As a guitarist this is my advice: use a direct box (Radial ProDI) to record directly from your guitar to your computer. Clean, without any plugins. Then, when your neighbors are out, use a re-amp tool (Radial ProRMP) to pass the clean signal to a real amp and record that. There's nothing like a...

Which kick is better? Drummers' help required!

Hey guys, I'm undecided about which EQ for the kick should I use for this instrumental song. The first one cuts nice in the mix, but the second one has a fuller sound. Any ideas or advises? https://soundcloud.com/infectionmetal/kicktest001 https://soundcloud.com/infectionmetal/kicktest002...

Ready to master? Mix Saturator question.

Well yes, some people prefer the ME to take some licenses and reshape their music. Not my case, I prefer that he respect the mix. However, my question was more a concern about using a saturation plugin on the master fader of a mix, acknowledging that sometimes it is applied during the master stage.

Ready to master? Mix Saturator question.

In this particular case, the track is not distorted, just... fuller? I'd appreciate if you could listen to the affected track (even thou I know you hate SoundCloud for these matters :D.)

Ready to master? Mix Saturator question.

That's good news. According to the samples I've posted, does the track with the saturator is OK? I mean, is it hurting the mix?

Ready to master? Mix Saturator question.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your tips and comments. I'm finishing my project and I'm seriously considering sending the mixes to a mastering facility. I saved some money so I can afford the service. Here's the thing: I applied a PSP Mix Saturator 2 on the master fader and I like the result, for...
