I am trying to record from a Tascam 414 through Wavlab to burn on to a CD. The problem is My playback is radically different than what I hear in recording. The right side of stereo is virtually nonexistant. Is this a sound card issue? I am pluged into my mic input,Couldn't use line input due to...
You might also suggest to your freind to investigate a Tascam 414 before purchasing a Porta 02. The 414 has EQ capabilities that I don't believe the 02 has and is well worth the extra $90.00
I hate to sound like a broken record but I get very good results from my 505 on DI recordings. Alot of my recording is done late at night so Direct input is the best way for me to stay out of jail. Once you learn how to dial in the sounds you are looking for with the 505 it is easy to understand...
Pen,
I agree with DaveO. Have patience. The 414 for what it is is a very good machine IMHO.
I owned a Yamaha MT44 back in the mid Eighties wich cost me triple the price of the 414 and the Tascam gives me just as good of a quality recording. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the MT44...
Penfloor95,
I have the same machine and use it for basically the same purposes. I think instead of pluging in to the back with your keyboard imputs you need to plug into the channel 1 and 2 inputs, pan to 3:00 and 9:00 respectively and record. That will give you your stereo sound . Then you can...
Try a Zoom 505!! It is the best pedal I have seen or heard to date. I picked mine up for $84.00. It is more than a distortion pedal and programable. Friends that have played through mine have all gone and gotten their own
After three tries It finally downloaded in its entirety. Seems awful low in volume but easy too use. The basic version with only 4 tracks was a little bit of a let down. I'm curious as to the differance between it and the pro version. Do you have it? Is the low volume a inherited tendency with...
Cooperman, Yes to all the system requirements. i've actually been able to download the Synth drum demo. However, the Kick and snare sound indentical, kinda like a dull splat and I don't see how to program a passage. On the surface this looks exactly what I need! But as is apparent,I am no...
I have no upgraded sound card in my computer, could that be it? I have DirectX 7 and have down loaded the latest Mediaplayer as yesterday. Is there something I'm overlooking? If not ,is there a program that can be purchased over the counter that does the same thing? The unit I use now sounds...
Thanks for trying to help Cooperman but I can't even get a Fruityloops downloaded demo to work(keep getting error message) even after downloading the latest directX and Media Player so I guess I better forget about that option, Thanks anyhow!
Allow me to ask a stupid question(humor me guys). Fruity loops appears to be an excellant option but what if you are analog only. How do I get the signal from my computer to my TASCAM without busting my budget?
Cooperman,
I use Maxell XL type II exclusively with my TASCAM with great results. I get mine at BlockBuster/Wherehouse music. I have been told by more than one credible source to NEVER use a Metallic type tape in a TASCAM for the exact reason Dom posted above.
I picked up a Washburn a week or so ago for around 2Bills and can't complain. It plays easy and sounds better than its price would indicate. I am having a bit of a challange dialing it in on recordings though.
Are there Programable Drum software programs available?? Other than Cakewalk wich would force me to upgrade my SDRAM,sound card, etc. I plan to do this in the future but not yet. Let me apologize in advance if this seems to be a stupid question
