I now have the Meek VCQ1. I was considering the RNP as an addition.... is the Meek as good (in terms of quality) as the RNP? Since I have the Meek, should I even waste the money on another pre in the same range?
Thanks,
RF
^ I totally agree about making sure the heads are in fact thinner. Usually, kits do come with the same heads on top and bottom.
One thing to realize though is that if you use a beat up and worn out head for your resinent head, it's going to sound like pure ass! Then before not too long, you'll...
I just got the new catalogue. On the bottom left corner of page 26, there is a really nice Dean 12-string guitar for only $399.
My first question is, is that guitar any good? I'm not a guitar player so I don't need a Taylor or Martin. I just want something for some glitz.
Also, has anyone...
Is DW really THAT expensive? I haven't even looked at them that much. I'm not a big fan of the drum hardware (lugs etc.). I know the DW's are good drums, but the Pearls (at least the ones I've played) offered a "sound" that I liked. Kind of like a high quality transparent compressor vs. a high...
What about one of those flat bamboo shades that roll up. That would be kind of cool. Wouldn't that act essentialy as a slot resonator? During mixing, I might be able to use a bamboo shade for half of the glass, and just open the other side to let the frequncies escape into the live room...
Well, Here's a plan that might work for my space. I had to take a picture of the actual paper that it's on because I did it on Microsoft Excel on computer at work. I don't have excel at home. Sorry for the crued pic. Any thoughts?

ARP- Have you the heard the version of Moonage Daydream by RACER X? It's the only version I've ever heard of the song so it was cool to hear your version. I've never even heard the original! If you want to hear it, let me know and I'll get it to you somehow.

Where can I find midi files for Rush's music? In particular, I'm only looking for the song "New World Man". I've looked at midifile site but I can't find any with Rush.
Thanks,
RF
uuuuuuuuuuh..... YEAH!!
Load it up! It'll give you chance to clean behind your mixing desk once it's all out and you're ready to put it all back in the morning!;)
oops! I've been a Tama man for soooo long that get all the others confused!:D
I checked out the forums before but I didn't get much out of em. Thanks for the rundown!

I'm really embarrassed for asking because being a drummer for so long, I should already know this this but I'm need of your input. I have a nice Tama Granstar II double bass kit that I'm going to be selling. I wanna scale down a bit to a more "realistic" kit. I don't need two bass drums but I do...
Oh..... but Forest Gump says "Stupid is as stupid does".....
Luckily, I've never done anything mentioned in this thread or in any drummer joke I've heard! :)
I have smacked myself in the balls with the butt of a stick while cracking the snare a coupe of times though. It happened live and holy...
Man this sucks! I'm a drummer and I already get no respect. But if I was to play another instrument it would've been violin. I guess I really am stuuuuuuuuuupiiiiiiiid! :(

Recording for 11 years and have the recording setup you have? I'd like to hear something that you've recorded. :)
My opinion is that your gear based on other threads that I've read is decent. Has anyone questioned the recording and listening environment yet?
