To get a metal sound like Tony Iommi; I use a
Laney Pro 50 all tube head and a Marshall 4 x
12 bottom. You can find a Laney head for less than $300 used. Mine refuses to render a clean sound and kicks any Boogie or VHT etcs. ASS!

I have got a Flextone amp but am looking to get either the new POD or a J-Station. I live in a remote area so must order thru catalogs and can't test at a music store before buying.
Has anyone any opinions on the new J-Station versus a new POD? Thanks!
Logic Silver-Gold or Platinum. Silver version is only $199 and gives you 24 tracks and VST
plug-ins etc. You can also get synth and samplers and upgrade later to Gold or Platinum.

I just got the Lexicon MPX500 and it kicks ass. I think it is 24 bit. Units like Lexicon and TC Electronics that offer at most 2 effects at a time can devote more power to better alogrithms that make for a lusher effect. Cheaper units that offer many effects at the same time don't sound as good...
I use two Adats and Adat Edit into the computer and am considering getting a BRC. They seem real expenive for a remote. What can they do that is so special? Thanks for your replies in advance. Rock On!
Alright Foo! Traynor Amps are great. My great
uncle Pete made some durable nice clean sounding
amps in the 60's and 70's. Yorkville has recently reissued a tube twin. You can get them used real cheap but they are hard to get to distort. You would need to use a pedal but the clean sound kills...
I have the same problems with all my tube amps and thru my mixer amps. I pick up a lot of truckers on CB's. I finally solved the problem with Ebtech HumEliminators. They are two channel XLR or 1/4" phone or you can get a
rack of eight.
I use a Tascam CDRW-5000 and it is the best thing I ever bought for my studio. I mix 16 ADAT tracks thru processors down to it and then take the master CD upstairs to my computer to make copies. I have heard that
Phillips sucks-but I do use their TV's at my motel. ROCK ON!
I am going to buy some new monitors within the next two weeks. I live in a very small town and there is no music store within 200 miles! Has anyone tested the new Behringer B2031 Truth Active monitors? Any other recommendations? Many thanks in advance. Rock On!
I just got the MPX500 but have not used the other processors you mention. The MPX500 is great so far on my electric drums and guitar but really shines on vocals: although I have only used it on a female voice. I assume it is just as lush on male vocals. You will be very happy with this...
I heard there was a isolated guitar speaker cabinet with a built in SM57 and a speaker and
attenuator made in the USA. Does anyone know the name of the manufacturer and phone number or website? Thanks in advance!
I just got a Studiomaster Classic 8-16
channel mixdown console that rocks! They aren't adverised as much as Mackie or Soundcraft, but
offer many more features and better sound
quality. ROCK ON!!!
I just installed an Adat Edit card and had no problems at all. It was up and running in 10 minutes on my lowly Apple Performa. I have had
no trouble transfering 8 tracks and adding 8 more and editing them;but I am looking at upgrading to Logic Silver or Gold. I got it used at Harmony Central for...
Are you using a preamp between your guitar and
soundcard? You need a hot enough signal to record. I am not familiar with Cakewalk but in Cubase you need to change the computer audio outs to external mic and make sure you are record enabling an audio track. Good luck!
