Yeah, but with headphones, they will always sound the same regardless of location.....and you can learn to mix with them....a good argument for home recording people using headphones (rarely will we have a good room for mixing in)

it really sounds like a RAM problem, but you said you have 1GB. Did you change the settings to tune the computer for recording?

Mixer is going through the direct outs of each channel to the M-Audio 1010 (balanced cables). I thought maybe the direct out comes before the pad, but only one of the mics was padded on the mixer. how about if you get a head and a quality cabinet, you can just get more heads from now on. you'll only have one cabinet sound til you get more cabinets, but still lots of diversity...
