When I tracked my final project at my school I thought I would flip the phase on the bottom snare mic, but I ended up thinking it sound better left alone....you can hear it on the link on my sig if you want
If I'm reading what you are doing correctly, I think you just need a direct box so you can go into the XLR input...sounds like a grounding issue to me, which you have no control over just going straight into the 1/4" inputs....If you are already using the XLR inputs, then I don't know...
edit...
My M-Audio Mobile-Pre (USB) works perfectly fine with my Vista laptop, but it only allows for 2 tracks. The M-Audio Delta (PCI) series would have 4 or more, but it doesn't look like they have Vista drivers yet....I would guess that they would be coming soon as they keep adding more and more...
My friend had an alvarez that sounded great, but something about the neck seemed smaller and I felt like I had to cram my fingers together to play, I think his was fairly inexpensive though, and it really did sound good.
I live in Columbia, SC now...and the BWI here has mineral and rigid fiberglass in stock also.
I got 2" fiberglass for 1.07 and 3" mineral wool for .70

These are free standing, and I did not think that the mineral wool and fiberglass was very flammable. The wood is treated, and while the fabric is flammable I'm sure, I wasn't aware that it would be any different than curtains. What is it about them that would be illegal?
Hey everyone,
I posted a little while ago and threw out some ideas of building a booth around the drums at our church...and after reading the replies decided that the only thing I would do would be to place some absorption behind the drums so everything wasn't bouncing off the back wall so...
do you have certain pitches that are consistently louder? it could be that some frequencies are getting amplified because the nodes are at the walls...
Thanks for the help, I'll keep working with ideas I guess....
So why do the clearsonic things work? Or do they not work? It says the SORBER things are rigid fiberglass...
edit...and to add to that, tmix, so with what you are saying, would some acoustic treatment on the wall behind the drums...
Sorry, I know this isn't a studio question, but I figured you guys would be the best to ask this question.
I just started working for a church as a music guy. We have a pretty small room, and I would love to quiet the drums down some. I don't think the drummers could play much quieter without...
if you are looking for it to hit harder, some limiting might help
usually the only way to get a better low end is use a different sound, you could boost more but i think it might just sound like mud
Theres also a waves plugin called RBass that does cool stuff to the low end
but again, if you...
I'm talking about the SDC's that go to 40K......both times I have been involved with a project (one jazz, one pop rock, different studios, signal chains, etc.) where they were used as the drum overheads, I have thought that they sounded really awkward in the mix....good by themselves but didn't...
Hey,
Just wanted to say, remember not everyone on here is an expert, so be selective when listening to opinions...
As far as guitars go, if it is a reputable brand and you play it before hand and like it, you're gonna be fine. Epiphone has been around for awhile making some decent guitars, so...
