    drum kit micing

    i think the fewest mics needed for a pretty decent drum sound is.... 2 overheads (L&R) 1 kick 1 snare usually the toms will come through well enough on the overheads for a pretty good sound

    i have an avt150h and like it...my style is much different than yours i think. why can't you back off on the bass on the head (there's a knob for it)...is the scoop in or out (i don't ever use the scoop)? what kind of guitar are you using? it seems odd to me that you would have this problem...

    i would overdub, but someone else may disagree as for micing, i use one condenser near the 12th fret and then also go line in and mix the two tracks together. I was really skeptical of this at first, but really think it sounds good

    there are many usb/firewire soundcards that will give you very decent sound quality for a lower price....such as the m-audio mobile pre (usb, i have this it is good) tascam us-122(usb) Pre-Sonus Inspire (firewire, this one is pretty good i hear) m-audio solo (firewire) These are all under 200$...

    weird question, but with vst plugins, i only need the .dll file for them to function correct? i ask because i get misc. files also such as .txt files when i download free vst plugins....so can i go through and delete everything except for the .dll files in my plugin folder? figured this best...
