I've only heard five people comment on the sound of them (well, six if you include csus7, but he's never actually heard one). The comments I've seen have been a bit mixed. Sort of along the lines of "nice, but a bit noisy".
Interesting. Tim uses the same analogy as Dan Richards (the "pinpoint in space"), but in the exact opposite way - Tim finds that a better pre creates a larger point in space, not a smaller one (as Dan has suggested). In the end, I guess it's all just "dancing about architecture".
I'll take you up on that offer. I'd want the agreement terms a little better defined and formalized before sending my money to J&T though. I'll have my lawyers draw up the papers.
Actually bunny, I think you may be the one paying top dollar. The Fielo mic's are rebranded under more than a dozen other names (SE Electronics, Pacific Pro Audio, etc.) and sell for much cheaper than "J&T" is selling them for. This is nothing new.
So, the OZ is solid? I'm looking at the 6-channel Q-Mix. Has anybody here used that? It's a fairly different beast than the 4-channel. It allows the musicians to do their own mixes from, I think, 4 stereo or mono sources. It also has an effects loop for the musicians to control how wet...
The issues are obviously related though if the only way they inform purchasers about their loose deadlines is to bury some mention if it deep within a mind-boggling website. If that's the case, I'd argue that the purchaser hasn't really been informed about the policy at all.
Huh? What have I said that was unreasonable?
If we're voting for "most unreasonable", I'd have to go with csus7 who raves about how outstanding the Davisound pre's are and strongly recommends them to people, when by his own admission he has never even tried one (or heard one).
But Regbro, he hand-builds audio equipment. Therefore, his website could not possibly be bad. Nor could he possibly be considered to have delayed delivery of a product beyond reason or have failed to communicate a delivery date properly. And, further, anyone who questions anything about Mr...
Under those circumstances, I think I would have just asked Mr. Paul for my mic back. And I'm sure he would have given it back. If he hasn't gotten to it in three years, I doubt he ever will.
I don't understand why you and csus7 think that shitty service automatically equals great product - as...
Personally, I'm currently trying to decide between these:

and these:

as my main monitor pair. They sound quite similar to me. The Cyber Acoustics model may have a bit more bottom end though.
Weird. I needed some rubber feet for my U5, so I e-mailed them about how much replacements would cost. They responded to my e-mail same day, shipped the feet free-of-charge the next day, and enclosed a free t-shirt with them. That was about a year and a half ago. Maybe things have changed...
