    DM24 Talkback

Well Im back again, I had the same problem with the effects tonight. They were wroking just fine , but I had a session last night and noticed a huge low end build up when doing track playbacks. So I was in a crunch and the only way I could kill the build up was by turning the phatom off on my...

to mix or not to mix in mp3?

Are you still using Fruity Loops? IF not then what are you tracking with now? And Blue is right, try to stay away from MP3s when working with tracks that you want professionally mixed. Malcolm

    Mastering wiring...

I wouldnt mind playing with a good plugin to add warmth. Since my ears are getting better as well as I have been doing some post processing for different genres that I personally do not listen to, I am really starting to hear the difference in different recording mediums for final mixdowns...

    Studio Projects B1

When I got my first B-1 I wasn't that gun-ho about it. For one I was comparing it to another mic in it's price range which was the V67g for me. But I pulled it out a few weeks ago and started applying it to different vox , cabs, etc, and I was surprised. Different mics for different...

    Any good mixing/mastering programs?

I think it all depends on the client base that you are after. If your client base has a huge budget, then I would imagine your gear list and tools would be in the upper $$ ranges. I have also heard some big budget artists mastered material done on semi-pro gear which sounds pretty good to me. I...

    setup tips

I dont really like recommending products . You may need to go to the newbie forum and search. But if I was just starting out in todays technology and wanted to do what you are trying to do I " and this is just me" would go with these. mic= Marshall V67g micpre = DMP3 or a SP VTB-1 sequencer...

    setup tips

In that case, I would get a good soundcard, A cheap midi keyboard or controller, a condensor mic, decent micpre, Softsynths for instruments and Drums, and a sequencer like Sonar,Cubase, etc. That wll give you a better sound than you think once you learn how to work it all, mix, and record with...
