    Beringer's eurorack and eurodesk mixers

Can you direct me to some proof that Behringer are manufacturing for Mackie? I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just not ready to believe that without proof. That being said, I do agree with your second comment quoted above..... but that just tells you I'm not that impressed with Mackie either ;)

    B-Series mics and color

Here's something you might find interesting. Look here It's a comparison between the following mics in this order... Neumann U87, Studio Projects B1, B3, C3, and Oktiva MK 319 large diapraghm condensers. Studio Projects C4, ADK SC1, AKG C451L, C460B, small diaphragm condensers. Shure SM 57...

Grade A Preamp? What is the Price Range? Comaprisons?

Les The price all depends on what you want. You can spend anywhere from $1k to $30k. An Avalon will most deffinately make your TB1 sound better, but it's no going to make it sound like a Neumann, Soundelux etc. and how much better it makes the TB1 sound depends on what you are comparing it to...

    B-Series mics and color

Reggaesoldier Read this thread and others at PMI's forum at Recording.org. You'll get heaps of information, and the owner of the company will even answer any questions you have. The B1 is a darker sounding mic (ie. more color) than the B3 which is actually widely reguarded as being quite flat...

    Beringer's eurorack and eurodesk mixers

I started my recording career with a Yamaha MD8 and a Behringer MX3282A. With little knowledge and nothing to compare it to, I thought it was the best thing ever. Then one channel failed, no biggy, I didn't need 32 anyway. Then one of the groups failed, so I sent it in for repair (still under...

    Mic Preamp

Yeah, the DMP3 will sound just fine on some tracks, but the point is.... a B3 through his Behringer will sound way better than a SM58 through a DMP. It's a no brainer. He simply needs a better mic before a better preamp.

    Mic Preamp

OK cool. I will guarantee you that a studio projects B3 will sound MUCH better through your Behringer than a 58 will through a $300 preamp. So I still suggest you buy a B3 now and then start saving for a decent preamp. I know of a guy selling a Vintech 1272 (Neve clone) right now for only...

    Mic Preamp

An entire song.... but both really. Now, your KSM109's are condensers and so they need phantom power, so you must be running them through some kind of preamp? A mixer perhaps? (which does have a preamp on each channel, asuming it has XLR mic inputs). Or are they battery powered? If you have...

    Mic Preamp

Well, the mic (apart from the talent) is arguably the most important link in the chain. But any mic will be only as good as the room, preamp, AD converter and engineer will let it be. Differences between high-end and cheaper mics and pres can be subtle when soloed. But where you REALLY start to...

    nakamichi cm-1000

nakamichi cm-1000 I've been told this was a great mic in its day. Anyone got the lowdown? What are they worth second hand?

    Beringer's eurorack and eurodesk mixers

Well, yes..... that is what this thread is about ;) I'm not crazy about Yamaha pres either, but I'd use them in a heart-beat over Behringer :D

    microphone for a trombone (classical)

man, there's some weird looking horns on that site LOL Back to the task at hand.... If it is something worth spending money on, I'd say hire a Royer Ribbon, a quality clean preamp (like and Earthworks or a Buzz Audio) and then rent an acoustically good sounding auditorium for an afternoon...

    microphone for a trombone (classical)

Sure, but they won't sound as nice as a ribbon. Bone is my first instrument. I used a MD421 live, but in the studio I always used a ribbon. It was the only way I could get a true trombone sound. Can depend on the player I spose. YMMV

    microphone for a trombone (classical)

A ribbon is really the only way to go. But then you really need a high-end preamp to do it justice. The Beyer ribbons are the cheapest, and still quite decent sounding.

    Beringer's eurorack and eurodesk mixers

Well, apart from the noisy, harsh brittle sounding preamps..... You'll be putting a cross on the scribble strip for a couple of channels in no time ;) Really bad build quality.

    Mic Preamp

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on low-end preamps. I went down that road and I'm now regretting it big-time. You are quite simply NOT going to get ANYTHING in that price range that will make a SM58 sound even half decent. And if that's your only vocal mic, then you $2-300 would...

Do all microphones require a preamp?

LOL I'll go for Salt Lake City

    Think Of You

It's recorded entirely in ProToolsLE (WinXP) through a DIGI001. The main mics are an MXL V67M and a pair of Beyer Opus83. Vocals are tracked through a Mindprint Envoice into the 001. Drums are samples arranged in Reason. Shakers are real. All good fun :D Mark

    Think Of You

Thanks for listening guys. I agree about the solo guitar and I've made suggestions to that effect. But as you probably are aware.... egos are like an itch, and usually they just have to be scratched ;) I might just try a shortened version and see what he thinks LOL. There are a couple more...

    Samba/Rock Mix

Nice track. A little over-compressed for my liking, and the snare distorts. But over-all a great effort.
