    backups

I archive the original material, the session file (hardly any space used) and the mixdown, and the cue sheet I use for CD burning. I need the mixdown if any more CDs are ordered (otherwise I'd have to do another mixdown). Archiving to DVD is fairly straightforward and economical these days...

    Tracking for Audio CD?

Assuming that your material is fully prepared - that you have got a single file displayed in edit view, possibly as a result of a mixdown from the multitrack - you can proceed as follows. Right click on the time scale at the bottom of the waveform. Choose 'Display Time Format > Compact Disc...

    Seperating tracks Please help

You'd need a soundcard whose outputs (line and mic) would be seen as separate identities in Options > Device Properties to do that. Unlikely.

Normalizing accross waveforms for an Album.

I forget which version of Audition / Cool Edit "Group Waveform Normalise" was introduced in, but that sounds appropriate to your problem.

Audible click when punching in (cep2.0)

Check the manual for all the stuff on zero crossings - you can set the multitrack to edit at zero crossings automatically and to smooth edits.

How do I use the WDM driver(send) and not ASIO with Adobe Audition?

Options > Device Properties is where you make all your device selections. If the device doesn't show there, then it's not available in the program.

    Cool Edit/Waves Gold Bundle Question

This rings bells - it may be something fixed in a later version of Waves or a later version of CEP (Audition) - trouble is that searching forums related to sound for strings including the word "waves" brings up loads of hits... probably most effective to try Waves forum or support.

    Newbie Question: Effecting track segments

They vary the parameters of certain effects over time, such as those in the pan / expand effect.

saving mix properties for next session

Re-reading your post I suspect you're not using realtime effects in the multitrack view. Those effects are applied to the whole of the track, non-destructively. Don't apply effects in edit view unless you have to. Forget about the default session for the moment, concentrate on effects in...

    ducking compression

Duck, mate, with a d. From other forums I get the impression that ducking doesn't work well in CEP/Audition (using the envelope follower). A bit of manual work with volume envelopes may be best. Or try db-Audioware compressor.

Moving tracks in Multi Track View

Right click is for blocks (or clips) rather than tracks, I'd say.

saving mix properties for next session

Look up how to create a default session - also you can save effects racks as presets for later reuse.

    pk file problem

Am I right in thinking 24-bit .wav files don't have .pk files? Or very short ones. Or you've got .pk file saving switched off!

    using real-time effects

Options > Settings > Multitrack is where the setting is that ChrisHarris is referring to. To which ChrisHarris is referring. Whatever. If your machine hasn't got enough grunt to process all the effects you want, you can lock tracks (and save the locks at mentioned above) mix down to a new...

    View my effects

Any change in edit view is destructive (apart from 'undo' which is fine until you close the session). There's also no way to tell what you have done and where. The proper procedure is to apply the effects in multitrack view (the so-called real time effects facility) and if you want to have...

how do u applies the same effect to multiple waves?

Create a bus and apply the effects to that. Search the manual for "bus" for the procedure - if stuck, tell us at what point.

Moving tracks in Multi Track View

In CEP2.1 you can - grab the track by the extreme left side of the bit of the track where the buttons are. In CEP2.0 you can't, as memory serves me.
