Eh? only if that's what you select as your recording input mode.

    Metering (AA 2,0)

The Audition 2.0 readme specifically states that there are problems with some Creative cards/drivers. Try downloading "Asio4All" (freeware) and see if that helps.

    Metering (AA 2,0)

It does start up more slowly - if only because it's a significantly bigger program. ASIO drivers cannot be shared between programs - maybe that's related to the problem you have when starting AA2.0 when using another audio program. Opening old sessions in the new version is a bit of a can of...

    Metering (AA 2,0)

Sounds like you are not using an ASIO driver. Goto Edit > Audio Hardware Setup to make your selection. And use Audition Mix Smart Input for monitoring.

please help me setup cards for Audition 2

If you are using Asio drivers, Audition cannot address more than one at a time (this is generally the problem with Asio). However, if you download and install Asio4All (freeware) and wrestle with its control panel for a little while, you should be able to achieve what you want that way.

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

My understanding is that you can upgrade from Audition 1.0 or 1.5 to 2.0 (ie they don't mind which version, which has miffed some who paid for the upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5 and now pay the same as someone who didn't). Only version 2.0 is now available from Adobe.

With prices relatively low, I'd say P4 3.0+ or whatever is fastest you can afford with that gig or more of memory. Stick with Intel - that's what the program is optimised for.

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

You mean an update to 2.0? It's only been out a week! But longer term, I'm sure Adobe will continue to issue further updgrades for this program - the huge revision that they have just released, which must represent a big investment for them, indicates that those who said that Adobe wouldn't...

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

Whether the upgrade is suitable for any given person very much depends on what their needs are and what what the configuration of their hardware is. I don't think one can make blanket statements about it one way or the other. I'd suggest to anyone thinking about it to measure their needs...

How do I set up a "input" buss on a track?

There's no input bus. It's rarely a good thing to use any kind of effect or process on incoming audio as it can't be changed afterwards. If you want to compress the audio on the input side, use a hardware compressor prior to the soundcard - it's the soundcard's input which you are wanting to...

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

I've been using Cubase SX3 with a Motu Traveler and HP NX8220 laptop for live classical music location recording work for radio, and I have to say I've found SX3 to be not very suitable for this kind of thing - setting it up for each session was something I had to do at home, carefully, before...

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

... but you don't get something for nothing, unfortunately - once you get past simple sessions, you do need a PC with more than the minimum spec to run this well.

Keep an eye on http://blogs.adobe.com/hartshafer/ for Hart Shafer's blog - he's the product manager and is posting frequent info there concerning stuff like the rollout of the tryout version. Good to see Adobe being less secretive than their reputation has had them to be.

    Audition CD Track info problem.

This applies to Audition 1.5 - there are significant changes in Audition 2.0 - 1. The CD Project View allows you to assemble a track list of audio material and burn an audio CD from within Audition. However, since this is intended as a "one-off" CD burning solution, the CD project tracks must...

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

We might not have been informed as such but there were dealers offering it on the net for at least the last month - then Amazon leaked it bigtime - followed by a Dutch outlet who posted the pdf flyers - possibly the most leaked release in CE/AA history!

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

I expect that in a few years' time most major packages will be protected with more than just a serial number. Adobe's activation technology seems to have been bought in from elsewhere - maybe they can afford it and others can't. If the downsides of activation really outweigh the advantages...

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

Activation is quicker and easier than posting to a discussion here. So what's the problem? I really don't see it. When you install the product I think it requires about one additional mouse click. When you uninstall, you get a clear two-choice message about transferring activation. Very...
