    baritone?

Hi, I had never heard of a baritone guitar before this year (been playing, lackidasically, for about 20 years now). Does anyone have any experience with these and could you offer advice on getting one at a budget-range price ($300-$500). It seems a way to get deeper tones with out mushing out...

    Opinion on Bass Guitar

I went ahead and got that OLP MM-3 5-string I was playing with... nice for the money. In fact, I've never played an instrument this cheap that was so well-behaved. I'd count it as an oddity rather than a norm.

Dude, that's a little apologist. There is nothing to excuse the behavior of Islamic Fundamentalists (or most any fundamentalists actually).

    get a 428?

It seems like the 428 is being discontinued. I don't see it in music mags anymore and a guy at GC says "we've stopped carrying it." Hmmmmmm....

    Small amps - recommendations?

I have the Tech 21 Trademark 10 and it is pretty good. Sometimes I wish I had of gotten a small tuber, like the Fender Blues Junior, but the Trademark, despite being solid-state, is pretty versatile.

    Opinion on Bass Guitar

Funny you mention this bass... I was just in a GC this afternoon marvelling at the quality of this instrument - given the price. I played a 5-string and was amazed and how smooth the neck was and how even tones were across the fretboard. Salesguy offered it to me for $230.00, but I probably...

    428 paper weight

It is certainly not without it's problems - support from Tascam seems to have dropped right on out. Mine is finnicky too and doesn't like ANY other MIDI product hooked up to the PC and especially doesn't like processing SysEx MIDI messages. Since I paid $500.00 for this, I am hard-pressed to...

    Dead notes, humidity and intonation

Light, Thank you for your thorough and informative reply. I will check out the humidifier you recommend although I bought one from SKB and am not sure how much good it will do. The thing with my leaving them on the wall (hanging from an arm which is mounted to the wall) is that they are up...

    Dead notes, humidity and intonation

Hi, I recently picked up a used Yamaha acoustic/electric and had it set up by the shop where I bought it (actually a GC). Anyhow, at first, in the store, it had a problem with F#,G,G# above the 12th fret on the high E where a note would sound dead. I understand this is due to intonation...

Looking for guitar mutli fx - NOT amp modelers

The ME-50 is nice but probably not gonna stand up to that T.C. unit. The ME-50 is nice if you like to stomp and filddle knobs (it is supposed to resemble a series of stomp boxes. Just chimin' in to say the ME-50 is a nice box (metal too). J-

    Recommendations for Multi F/X Pedal???

glad you like your ME50 too. It doesn't look like enough time transpired between my post and yours for my suggestion to have been much influence. :-) The ME50 IS just what the doctor ordered for me. Now I have two palletes: 1) Modelling with the POD 2.3 2) A more analog approach with the...

    Recommendations for Multi F/X Pedal???

I got the Boss ME-50 a few weeks ago and like it a lot. It has all knobs, so it is made to emulate the experience of dealing with individial pedals. Essentially, it sounds like most of the individual Boss pedals, but it is done with COSM. There is no amp modelling at all in this. I use it to...

    the Nuge

Hi, Totally insignificant bit of news here: I was meeting someone here in town (Richmond, Virginia) for coffee at a Starbucks near an office-park kinda deal and who should walk in and get a grande coffee but Ted Nugent. Ted was sporting a safari-style camouflaged hunting cap and a hunting...

i want a telecaster! any input appreciated.

Your guitar sounds like a dream. While I won't doubt that your guitar is cherry and that an Ame St. is preferrable, the MIMs aren't terrible either ( I know you are not necessarily implying this either). With just a little judgement and selection, a VERY GOOD instrument can be found in the MIM...
