Can't gurantee you'll like them, but there's a big nest of forums here:
http://www.prosoundweb.com/forums/
Also, most DAWs have their own forums hosted by the parent company - I'm guessing you'd be blocked from those sites, though.
I recently opened an account with Yahoo - I haven't actually built my site yet, but I've played around with the tools a bit. They have a page builder that works a lot like a typical document editor (i.e, Word). It seems surprisingly easy to use and effective - much more so than I would have...
Check out the suggested rigs on Tweakheadz guide - should give you a feel for what people are currently doing:
http://www.tweakheadz.com/rigs.htm
If you're referring to the Tascam US122, it does have a good rep around here.
We do need more info from you. I assume your tape deck is something like a 4-track? With a (cheap?) tape deck, you're not going to get big studio quality - that said, a blah recording of a great performance is still interesting. You've just got to accept that you're not going to get great...
This ought to confuse things nicely ;)

And, yes, some are actually in regular use- I THINK violists use the Alto or Tenor Cleff???
[EDIT] Well, I guess I should leave something of actual use here - pianists only care about the...
In imitation of jazzman, I think I'll bump an old thread - not very randomly, though.
Mixerman has said outright that Bitch Slap isn't Nine Days. Anyone want to keep the guessing going? Please? I'm really curious (enough that I bought the book) but I don't keep close enough track of...
I run an Omega with Sonar 4, and I was running Home Studio 2004 when I first got it (which I think was contemporary or prior to Sonar 2???) .
Based on that, I'm guessing its a configuration issue. If no one knows what's up here, the forums on Cakewalk's website might be more fruitful.
Set aside a couple of hours and read Tweakheadz guide:
http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm
You can skip sections that are clearly of no use to you, but reading everything wouldn't hurt. This will give you a good intro to all the fundamentals.
Welcome to the boards.
I highly endorse The Guide at http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm
Yeah, its more reading, but it will give you the introduciton you're looking for to quite a few topics, and you can skip around from topic to topic if you like.
You'll come out with a far better idea of what questions to ask ;)
For the record, clipping occurs at 0.0 in the digital realm specifically. Since we're working with bits, every sample must have a value between
0000 0000 0000 0000
and
1111 1111 1111 1111
(assuming we're working at 16-bit resolution). 0.0 dB means all the bits are on (all 1s), which is the...
Here's an article (from Cakewalk) on incorporating Reason with their products (its a bit old, but it should be basically accurate.
http://www.cakewalk.com/Tips/April03_AndertonPt1.asp
After reading through here, you should know how to record a MIDI track (with output directed to Reason) in...
Auto-Tune is software (I think it was originaly hardware, and is incorporated in some hardware, but the "Auto-Tune" product is just software now) - look at the Antares site:
http://www.antarestech.com/products/index.shtml
Sonar is now shipping sofware by Roland as well.
What equipment are you using? Do you have the original tape/files/etc.? If so, you can make a new version by changing the levels/panning/eq/what have you, then using whatever process you used to make your first version (exporting from sofware, recording to tape, etc.)
