Using USB controller to control midi analog synths.

I'm unclear un how the analog synth would connect...Just through USB, like a new MIDI device? What about if I had a synth with no USB, or what about if I had multiple, adn I wanted to use just the one keyboard to play all of them?

Using USB controller to control midi analog synths.

Ok - total newbie question here: I have a couple USB midi keyboards (no 5-pin MIDI jacks) and I would like to buy my first analog hardware synths and be able to play it using one of my controllers. I don't want to have to buy a new midi keyboard that has 5-pin MIDI. I've heard this can be done...

Using midi controller to toggle between/focus on tracks

I tried that - it toggles the map to prev/next track, but I can only play whatever track I've selected with the mouse.

Using midi controller to toggle between/focus on tracks

FYI - I know how to set up act control surfaces and toggle between surfaces, but the focus always remains on whatever track I've selected with cursor, therefor I'm always playing that instument.

Using midi controller to toggle between/focus on tracks

Hi Folks I'm using Cakewalk DAW. I'm wondering how I would go about using my midi controller (Alesis V49) to toggle between VST tracks. Basically, I want to play live with just my midi keyboard and toggle between instruments without using my mouse :P.

Sonar - Delete clip without deleting automation data.

Hi folks I've searched but can't find any information on this. I'm using Sonar. When I delete a midi/audio clip from a track, it deletes all the automation data with it. Same thing if I copy a clip and paste it to a new track, it's pastes all the automation data in as well. I don't always want...

Recording Automation While Listening to the Track in Sonar?

Thanks for the smart-ass answers everyone, but I figured it out: There's a 'sound on sound' option if you click and hold the 'record' button in the control bar.

Recording Automation While Listening to the Track in Sonar?

Hi I'm using Sonar and I'm wondering if there's a way to record automation while being able to hear the track you're automating. I have a midi track with no automation on it. I can arm 'write automation' and hit record and it will automate any changes I made to pan/volume/cutoff, whatever, but...

Copyright laws for using sound bites

I have a question about copyrights. What are the laws regarding using sound bites in your music. I'm mixing a song and I want to incorporate a sample from an old newsreel. Is there a fair-use law that applies to this sort of thing? Thanks

How to 'glide' from one note to another in DAW (Sonar)

Ah I get it. I target the pitch wheel in Serum using an automation lane. I guess that can kind of work. Not ideal as there's no way to know where you're placing your nodes unless by ear, or a tuner plugin.

How to 'glide' from one note to another in DAW (Sonar)

I'm using Serum mostly. I just can't figure this one out. I can figure out a way to do it in Serum, as you can apply a modulator to control the pitch, but Sonar doesn't have anything as obvious as that.

How to 'glide' from one note to another in DAW (Sonar)

So, I've searched high and low for an answer to this question but with no luck. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question? I use Sonar. I would like to be able to smoothly 'glide' or 'bend' a note from one to another using the DAW. I've discovered the 'wheel' modulation lanes but there doesn't seem...
