    I Know - new mix

Thanks Clam. 4:22, I think that's where I fell of my drum stool :D. Vocal effects, just a little compressor, eq and reverb and a slight pitch shift to give a slight doubling effect. Bisson and Greg, I really do appreciate what your saying, I'm not really after pristine drums on this. Listening...

    I Know - new mix

Thanks :D. That is what I want to hear. Glad you like it. I want to improve the drums, but I'd rather do it with EQ and compression. The original mixes of these songs had programmed drums. Part of the reason for redoing these songs is to hone my drum playing/recording skills and I just like the...

    Folkish tune.

Love it. Except those echoey vocal bits. Personally I think they need to be either up or not there at all, it almost sounds like it's something that's been left in by accident, like a bleed onto another instrument. Liked the reverb.

    Lie for a Lie

Great song. Nice live sound. I'd like more use of the stereo field, pan the guitar out, give the bass and drums a bit of space. Otherwise like it.

    Work or wank?

Very nice guitar tones. Only fault I can find is the kick, sounds sort of mushy?

Do you love the mocha chick?

You have a good voice, and I notice you often double track your vocals. I agree with vomithatsteve, single vocal, overdub the guitar and bring the shaker (dog chain?) up.

Feedback on my first cubase project (URL included)

Can't add much to what the others have said, other than to say it's really nice song and suited the simple production.

Some great sounds, like the flute sample. Psycedelic Reggae. When you say prophet, do you mean as in sequential circuits. How about letting us hear the version with vocals?

    I Know - new mix

Hi guys. Thanks for the positive comments. As regards the negatives - Greg - I take it your a drummer, I suppose it's a bit like someone coming on and saying, have a liten to this, I only know two chords, have three strings on my guitar, a couple of missing frets, and my speakers have a...

    I Know - new mix

Thanks for your comments Whaymysay "What are you doing as it sounds like the main guitars are in a slightly different place to the drums." This has been said about another track I posted here. Part of the problem is only having 8 tracks, so I have to mix the drums and bounce them. Then I'm...

Recording my bands EP in my basement. how am i doing?

Not able to listen to the new mix yet, but regarding the bass. The vast majority of recordings have the bass centre. There are reasons to do with vinyl why this bacame the norm, but it usually sounds better balanced that way, especialy when using earphones/headphones, like you say. However. Al...

    I Know - new mix

Thanks for your all your comments guys, it's becasue of comments from you guys and others like you that I've been able to improve my stuff. I think the less wide panning has improved, and I think the comment about the lead is right. When I figure how to get was out of my vs I would like to hear...

    I Know - new mix

I've tried a new mix with the guitars not panned as wide. I took a listen to a few CDs and noticed that things are not panned quite as wide as I thought. Would appreciate any comments. Thanks I Know III by Artful Jester on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

Is this amount of noise is normal?

You could try repositiong the amp or your guitar in relation to it. You are going to get noise. This is example doesn't seem too bad to me, but others may be more picky. I'm a bit of a retroist so I really don't mind a bit of amp noise. You could always try gating.

new tune - one more day

I agree with a lot of the comments above. the girl's voice - very nice, love the reverb. Your voice - you do have a good voice and the majority of it is pitched well, just a few issuses here and there (not sure about the beer advice, if your anything like me, my vocals go all over the place...
