My band's website is almost done

Actually, I like the idea of a gig calander on a seperate page. Thanks for the idea. If I do that, I can eliminate one of the links and condense the content box as well making is bit more accessible. I'm going to do it in a bit.

Hard Rock tune with me playing the Gretsch Renown Maples

I don't think my breathing gets picked up, I never really listened for it. It's a sidestick. Maybe I can figure out a better way to do it so the mic picks it up better.

My band's website is almost done

The first page is the news section. I'm not exactly sure how I can fit multiple news posts into the box there unless the text is reall small or something. Unless you mean you have to scroll from the menu to the box... I havn't tested the page in any resolution lower than 1024x768 because I...

My band's website is almost done

Yea, I do rely heavily on flash. I know the contact us could just be a php script like the news and journal are. I just like using the inline frames for the content area so people don't have to keep loading the menu. I figure most people have a flash capable browser, and if it is flash capable...

cant get vocals to sit well...

Well other things are using reverb too. Maybe it is something to do with all the different reverbs... Did you use like times on the reverbs or different time? As in decay times... One thing for vocals though is don't try to pan them too far, sometimes they will sound odd and just not right...

    Hero Of The Day (old)

Sounds good for only being your 10th song mixed. The recording is pretty good. From your equipment list sounds like you only had a couple of mics for the drums, they sound real good for having limited equipment. Good work. The bass guitar doesn't seem to stand out to much though.

    Latest recording, please critique!

Sounds damn good to me. With this type of metal I'm used to hearing a bit more of that clicky pluck to the bass guitar though. To me it doesn't sound muddy but that kick is definately the prodominant thing on the drums there. Try getting those cymbals mixed in a bit better. Overall sounds real...

My band's website is almost done

I've been working on this for my band Three After. http://www.threeafter.com It's pretty basic but it looks clean to me and is easy to navigate which I think are very important things. Also has fully functional comments system in the journal and news areas as well as a fully functional message...

just tell me what you think of my band :D

I agree about the drummer. He seems to sound out of sync with the guitar sometimes where it should be together. He or she shouldn't try that double kick at the beginning of From the Floor, it's pretty bad. The Cher effect is awful. I would just rid of that altogether. Overall it is alright...

Hard Rock tune with me playing the Gretsch Renown Maples

Yes, the cymbals are making the mix too bright. I'm going to go through and isolate the frequency and do a bit of cutting so it isn't as rough on the ears. I have 2 snares to choose from the Gretsch 14X5 and the Pork Pie 12X5, the Pork Pie sounds tighter to me probably due to size. I'm still...

MAJOR Labels: The problem with Music

Best thing is to be self sufficient. I do all the recording and some of the artwork and the website. I try to be as self sufficient as it gets. I'm not looking for a hand out and I don't want to work with a producer or a major label. I just want distrabution, which can be had by other means.

Hard Rock tune with me playing the Gretsch Renown Maples

Happy Pills(mp3) There is the link above. You can also here the drumkit from hell version at threeafter.com. I layed this drum track down to a click and played along with the song minus the DFHS. Let me know what you think of the sound on the drums more so than anything else. All toms and...

    nes classics: Castlevania

Pretty damn cool. I've heard a version of Contra somewhere and it was awsome. This is definately cool too.

    Alternative rock please comment :)

The bass guitar is pretty lound compared to the drum track. The vocals are really loud when they come in. They could maybe come down a tad and the drums get a little lounder and more defined. I 2nd the snare, it is really soft. It's pretty decent though overall, just some things here and there...

A tune about corporate religions ...

I can't really hear the clean rhythem guitar over the bass drums and vox. Or, maybe that is an organ in the back ground. Sounds good, not really my style of music, but sounds good for this kind of music and it is very upbeat.

    Pedal death

Everything actually sounds pretty cool... It almost reminds me of an old band called "Pop Will Eat Itself". It is definately a fun sounding song and the various guitar melodies and such are catchy.

poppy rock song w/ new acoustic "Meet Me in Belize"

It has a catchy vibe to it. I think when you start getting louder vocally and the distorted guitars are going it almost sounds like one is overpowering they other at times quite a bit. Other than that sounds pretty good.

    Progressive Electttttronicccca......here>>

Interesting... Sounds like it would be a cool soundtrack style song to a game or movie... I listened to high wires also, pretty cool stuff. Digging the synth metal stuff. I'm not sure if you were looking for mixing advice or anything here, so I won't give any input unless asked. Good song...

    Re-wroked, re-tracked, re-mixed....

Sounds pretty good to me. Guitars fit the song. Bass and kick drum sound really great together... I did notice at 1 minute a crackling noise, maybe to much volume getting pushed on something or a certain frequency getting over done? Other than that, sounds pretty dang good.
