So what was your first guitar set-up and what's your current?
1st: MIM strat into a borrowed champ, and a digital metalizer pedal!
Current: '62 AVRI Jazzmaster or MIM strat (same one with p90s and lots of mods) into a Dr. Z maz 18, and lots of cool pedals.
thanks...I'm just curious
miro's got over 7000 posts and I don't think he's used that many words!
I kinda feel like regurgitating my thesis. it was over 300 pages...might be close to the length of what jay's written.
Thanks Steen. I was thinking the same thing but couldn't figure out the math. It's kinda like shooting...a 1/4" difference at 100m will miss the target at 500m.
I don't get it? If you can play at all, you should be able to do this. It seems pretty basic. I'm sure there is something more complicated going on than just switching from C to E, like the rhythm or something, so, as everyone has said...PRACTICE.
I've had an SG for 12 years or more. When I first got it I used 9s for everything because I was young and dumb and liked metal. Then for a lot of years I used 10s on everything. Recently I've switched to 11s. The SG has handled all of them just fine with no major set up issues. I do adjust...
If it were me i'd get the Jag. They sound a little more aggressive to me and I like the bigger body. The mustang always felt a little small.
The pixies use everything...I've seen them with JMs, but mostly other stuff. Now a lot of their peers (dinosaur jr, sonic youth) use JMs and Jags.
cool, thanks. I actually bought a '72 twin with brand new tubes, tech gone through and replaced filter caps, and (for some odd reason) vintage 30's...all brand new. sounds awesome. The V30s sound way better than the stock Utahs that also came with the amp. Basically with the new tubes, and...
Nice! I've never sold any gear until this week. I just like what I buy...now I'm on a selling spree. I hope I don't regret it later (dont' think I will it's all stuff I haven't used in 10 years).
Anyone else out there? I love jazzmasters. I never got into strats, I like teles, and I don't care for humbuckers much. To me jazzmasters are perfect.
Any pictures...I'll post mine when I get a chance!
Well the guy at GC told me they check local CL for prices and pay 40-70% of that as "street price"...i don't even know what that means though.
Prices are what they are. The few times I've bought off CL I've found what I wanted, offered the price I wanted to pay and had the offer taken or left.
Usually true, but adding too much heat or prolonged exposure to heat during soldering can really weaken wire and make it super brittle. To the point where it will break with minimal stress that wouldn't break a stronger wire.
Steve, you don't have to be a great solderer...just put a little on...
